looking likely!

Two things,

firstly an article in todays Autosport (p100/101)

Says Seat UK are now seriously considering bringing the SuperCopa if it gets enough positive feedback from some tests next month (see below).

Based on Leon Cupra R models with 250bhp, it has attracted fields of 20 cars in Spain.

Seat have arranged a test for 11/12 july in midlands to allow teams and drivers to try out the car in anger. It will be the first time the cars will run outside the UK.

Seat are also in talks with BARC about orgainising a championship.

Secondly, an advert for the aforementioned test also appeas in Autosport.

Asks if you think, you've got what it takes to cmpete in a Leon SuperCopa, call 08000407260 to register your interest and you could be invited to one of the test days in July

You must have a Racing licence (bugger I have a navigator rally licence) number and status, competition racing experience and if you have competed for aprivateer or team.

It would be very cool if someone could have a word in SEAT UK's ear and persuade them to let us run a SEATCupra.net team.

We could get sponsorship from several dealers who wouldn't be willing to fork out for a whole team for themselves, but wouldn't mind chipping in a bit of money and support in return for ad-space on the car. It's worth a try. Lee seems to be friendly with those chaps at SEAT UK, perhaps he could make the appropriate mutterings...

I think really cheap tin top budgets are circa 100k for BTC production.

It would be cool - BUT I think the best we could hope for is some pit passes to give away (hint hint)

10 dealers at 10K a piece, et voila, 100K budget! :D
These dealers must have taken enough profit out of us by now to be able to afford that.

I think the budgets are in excess of 100k, even in Proddie class.

Have you noticed the MG's run "MG & Rover UK dealers" on their car

quite a few teams run fan web sites on there cars, and I'm sure they dont pay.

for example

at modello, the Vauxhalls ran with some vauxhallfan site.

Rob Collard's Clio has btccpages.com

Last years Focus had a few on as well.

an ex Uni colleague, Peter Cate races in the BTCC in production and he has ten-tenths, redshoes and yorkcityracing!

Ive already asked Lee to enquire with SEAT, about the availability of getting some passes for this testing day if we can, earlier today when Andy first broke the news.

Early days obviously, but would be nice to cover it and we'll take it from there. :)

Nope, 'fraid not, but then all us ovni yellow Leon drivers seem to be nailing it wherever we go:D

Unusual to see one north of the M25 mind. The only time I ever see other ovni yellow Leons is around Enfield and north London. I can honestly say I've only ever seen 2 others outside of London in the 15 months I've had my car.

Whereabouts r u from then Biff?

I'm just the other side of Ware. As you live in Cheshunt
I thought it might be you. First Ovni Yellow Cupra I've seen in my area, the only other one I've seen is black. They're getting more popular though by the month.

A coleague and fellow racer at work used to race Alfas against Pete, and more often than not beat him ;)

Mention the name Ted Pearson to him, I'm sure he'll remember.
