View Full Version : Tire Time Again
Yes 5 months have come and gone and so have my tires. As Dr. Bones would say "There dead Jim !" My Michelin Pilot Sport 205/50-17s have been on the tire wear indicators for a week now (32000km). Loved the Pilot Sport but I'm looking for something that will wear a little better at least until rain season (which start in Nov-Dec). The Pilots have also been giving me alot of road noise as of late.
Checked around and due to $$$$ will be going up to 225/45 (they are actually cheaper than the 205/50). Since where in the summer a good wearing tire would be nice. Recommendations so far have been:
Michelin Pilot Primacy
Goodyear EAGLE F1
Pirelli P-Zero Rosso
Pirelli P-Zero Nero
Bridgestone S-03

I will not vote, because I haven't drive all of them, but they say that Bridgestone Potenza the new model 3 are the best there is. We'll I haven't been able to test them jet so I can't really tell.

A motoring magazine in the UK called Evo did a tyre test in the June issue. They prefered the Goodyear.
It seems most like the goodyear F1. The only reasons I have the others up is because as they say on ther sites (better wearing tire). Even if they are better wearing I still dought they'll do over 40000-45000km. That's still better than the 32000km (and counting) from the Pilot sports.
How do the goodyear rate in wear? will they do close to 40000km?

I have just put Goodyear Eagle F1's on my V5, they seem pretty good so far, but they only went on at the weekend so I haven't had enough time to get a full impression on them.
Everyone has voted Goodyear Eagle F1 so far!
Just want to reminder voters:
Looking for good mileage....I wish I could find a tire this size that
would do 70000KM like the michelin energy
on Mom's Corsa!
I live in Portugal so no mater how durable the tires are, they won't make it to the really rainy winter months (starting November).
OK just ordered the goodyears.
Should have them in some time next week.
Thanks.
