Hi all. Yesterday I became the proud owner of an Ibiza Cupra. I have already got plans for the mods I want to do, the only thing I am unsure of is a chip upgrade. I have decided to have the oettinger chip fitted, but my question is how long should I wait until I get this fitted. At the moment the car has only covered a couple of hundred miles. Also what kind of performance figures am I likey to see, i.e. 0 - 60 and top end?
------------------
I would wait until you have done about 4k, once the engine is nice and loose. No point spending all that money on a chip if you can't use it! Will also give you some time to see if any problems develop with the car - more difficult to get Seat to fix it for free once chipped http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
As for 0-60. Official standard is 7.7s, with chip it is 6.6 (nice eh!!!). Would suggest you also spend the money on a Forge Dump-Valve and a larger intake pipe to the turbo. RSD do the lot! They also recommended Green-Stuff pads as the brake dust is silver, not black, so it is easier to clean those mad 20-spoke alloys!!
Mine's going in on Fri for all this - done 6.5k.
Cheers - Rich

Hi
Could anyone out there be so kind to post the E-Mail address for FORGE. I'd like to get the recirculating valve from them.
Noam.

Hi Andy
Thanks, actually found it before your kind reply http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
Anyone out there has this dump valve by Forge fitted - I'm looking in to gettin' one of them.Check out there site - A lot of informative stuff concerning the Forge re-circ. one VS. our std. dump - quite a difference in build quality, performance etc.
See ya,
Noam.

Yes....and i say FIT ONE STRAIGHT AWAY!
As for gadge....you'll do 0-60 (with the right technique and everything) a low 6sec is definitely achievable.
As for top end...we've done 145mph...with a 1000 revs till the redline!
We rekcon it'll happily fly past 150mph...on roads that allow of course!!! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

Yep, I've got one and can't fault it. Pick up is much smoother. Nice cheap little mod....

While we're talking about Chips (the electronic based rather than potato based), has anyone had a 'Superchip' fitted to their Ibiza Cupra? I notice with the 'discount' through SeatCupra.net, it's about £300 notes, which seems a bargain.
I'd just like to hear comments or recommendations regarding chips. Is the superchip a good one etc?
