I just ordered a 2.0TDI Sport in Lluvia blue, along with the MP3 option, xenon's, auto dim mirror and rain pack. Now I just have to wait approx 12 weeks to get it!
Dealer was surprised I wanted the xenon's as nobody had ordered those through them before!? I was also surprised to hear that. They did a search of UK stock and there were no black Leon's with the xenons either. Perhaps its cos its expensive at £765 from Seat (only £510 on the Golf V). Hopefully it'll make it more desireable in the future.
Roll on December.

never sold a car with xenon's! only ever been asked once! and we decided against it as it would make it a 3 month wait! :p
good choice in car though they are fantastic to drive! :-o

Amazing that vwsurfbum! I had a ride in a mate's Polo GTI a couple of years ago and loved the extra light from the xenons, especially in dipped beam (its rare for me to need full beam).
The sport was a great car to test drive with a load of ooomph. Getting back in my Toledo V5 was a shock, sure its a swift motor but it lacked the kick in the back the TDI had.
I had xenons on my Focus and I miss them. Excellent kit to have worth the price I say.
you gonna be one of the first in the country I imagine, cool.
paradyne, Did you look into getting DSG also?
Or was that not an option for you as you are planning to remap it in the future?
As I've heard this could be an issue with more power through the dsg box ?

I didn't seriously look at the DSG option, although there are times when I'd like an auto for stop-start traffic. Perhaps if I'd have test driven one I may have been keener.
Haven't given re-mapping this one much thought and wouldn't really entertain it until the engine settles in. Fuel economy is playing a part in this cars role, plus it'll be my first oil burner so I hope it lives up to expectations.
Sure might be one of the first with the xenon's on the street. The dealer had already sold 2 Leons before mine, not bad considering they're not officially UK launched yet :)
The black TDI sport had its red cover in place as mentioned in someone else's posting. They also had a 30min or so feature playing from dvd on a nice Samsung LCD tv - Jason Plato and a female swimmer (Lucy something) talking about the Leon.

I just had the call to say that my car has been built (on the 24th) and that it should be with me in November. Naturally I'm happy about that :)

Weh hey!
So, you ordered it on 15 September and you got the call 6 weeks later.
I ordered mine on 23 September so fingers crossed I'll get the call sometime this week!
All I was hoping for was to have the new motor before Christmas - looks like I'll be grinning like a cheshire cat sooner than that!
Fingers crossed.
My order went in on the 22nd of September.
Let me no when you get the call and ill do like wise.
The waiting game is so annoying.
My order went in on the 28th August and I've still not heard anything other than major computer problems with the ordering system. :(

No luck - I assume you are badgering the dealer as much as you can - I wouldn't be surprised if your new motor is lying in a port somwhere in Britain waiting for your dealer to arrange pick-up!
i wonder what port the cars come into the country?
Does anyone now how long the delivery takes once the car has been released from the factory?
That Lluvia blue looks SO nice...

once the vehicle has left the port it should take about 3 weeks, the delay at the moment is a problem with one of the boats.

My mate who works at Nissan told me a few weeks back that there was a Transport Union strike in Spain too - it's effected their deliveries - not too sure if this is still causing problems though??

They make Nissans in Spain?

No joke, they have had a car just turn up without any indication that it had left the port in Barcelona.
I was told that delivery from the factory in Martorell to the dealership is roughly two to three weeks and as the main ship is out-of-action, they have resorted to use three ships to carry the same quantity of cars!

They use parts built in Spain and they also deliver new cars from Sunderland to the Spanish dealer network - hence the problems with the Spanish transport union!
How many folk who use this site actually work for SEAT??
There seem to be a few with 'insider' knowledge!

So can you explain how you guys track these new cars - there seems to be a common complaint from the dealers that the system they use is not too reliable or useful for tracking the progress.
Is it just a question of regularly checking the 'database' and checking to see if a new car's order reference number has been added??
Can you log onto the database and check if my car is ready - or is it dealer specific?
All seems a little prehistoric to me.

it is a very prehistoric system and not that reliable either! i know there is a major problem with the boats at the moment and they are using 3 replacements boats just to catch up, Altea's arnt coming at all at the moment as they dont 'fit'!!!!!
Just had the news that by car has been built and is on the way. The dealer reckons 10 days till collection.
so looking forward to it arriving.

Lucky you!
I'm still waiting to hear - I've got the dealer ringing me back today at some time regarding other matters so I'll get an update then!
By the way, if anyone is interested in the twin chrome exhaust cover piece for the Leon - IMG in Warrington have faxed me the instructions on how to fit - relatively straightforward and the part costs about £55. It's the same fitment as used for the Altea so no problem with ordering.
Once I hear the car is on it's way I'll be ordering the exhaust cover - looks smart, and finishes the back end off nicely - a la A3 and Golf GTi!

@Starbank: Still waiting for more news and a delivery date unfortunately. I'd have thought it would have got to UK within 16 days from leaving port. The anticipation is killing me!
So long as they aren't parked on the ocean floor with some BMW's :)
I have now seen two new Leon's in the wild now, a stunning red one and rather dirty looking black one (hence why I didnt go for black).
I neeeeds my precioussssssss
It's pretty funny round my way.....
200 yards down the road a New black Leon (1.6 I think, nothing special anyway) has turned up (about a month ago)
Then ANOTHER black one appeared 3 doors down from him!
Common as muck ;)
Iv only seen one new leon, and that was in Red.
I think my car will be here next week now. Dealer tells me its at the port in England.

Well looking at the timescales you have had with your new motor, it looks like 5 weeks from the build date that the new cars are ready to pick up at the dealers.
So on that basis, should have the car around 23 December - which is a bit too tight for my liking!

A word of warning for those waiting till the last minute to sort out your new insurance. I have had several insurance companies tell me that they can't insure me because the new car is not on their system! Paradyne - who are you using?
One of these companies being First Alternative whom I'm with at the moment! They could insure me for a TFSi Sport but not the 2.0FSI Ref Sport - work that out?.
Good to hear some of you are picking up new cars very soon - just make sure you keep us all informed about your first impressions!
AntFR - please elaborate on the recalls if you can.

Bizarre, I got my insurance from First Alternative and found that most companies list the FSI but not the TFSI (or FSI T). Direct Line has the TFSI listed but kept returning an error, which I was told was because it is too new!

I'm with Admiral and the car was on their system, they made an amendment to my policy and I got the certificate today. To be honest I have no idea what the premium is as its just a switchover from my current one on the Toledo. I'd imagine that it's a bit cheaper overall givern grp 9 vs 13.
@Ant FR. :) Thought it was a wind up, you had me going for a minute, especially when I looked up week 43 to see if that covered mine. lol

Just had a call to say my new Leon has made it to the port in Spain and will be on the boat over to Blighty anytime!
Also said the new cars are arriving at their garage sooner than expected once they are on the boat!
May just get that early Christmas pressie!
Just had my Seat dealer phone me up and their as been a problem with putting my private plates on the new car.
They need to get a form sent form Seat U.k. to enable them to use the retention document. Some new procedure that Seat has brought in I was told. Then they have to go to a Dvla office to tax the vehicle and cant just use a normal Post office.
The dealer told me I have the option of waiting three days for the personal plates to go on the car or just have a standard plate. Decided I wanted the car tomorrow and will have to sort the plates out myself.
The dealer has made two sets of plates up for me which is quite good.
I will have to send the tax disc off and get the right number plate put on it. Some time next week.
As anyone else had this problem??

Have it as it is .... take a drive to your nearest DVLA office (MAIN office) with ALL your details.
I went to Shrewsbury the other month, they did the change over there and then. Printed off a new tax disc, the lot. Just had to take EVERYTHING with me ... including my number plates.
Sod waiting two weeks!
Picked up my TFSI today and it is awesome!! :D The bluetooth option is one of the best I have seen and the xenons are sooo bright!!

I'd like to see a piccy of the honeycomb grill, I was washing mine at the weekend and noticed the grill around the "S" badge is well spaced out leaving the radiator very vunerable to stones and small mammals etc.
I too hope you have as much fun in your new toy as i'm having.

Yip, its Zenith Grey!
I didn't like the colour when I first seen it on a demo car, but that's changed now! :D
I've had the LifeShine treatment added to it, so washing it is a doddle. Those pictures were taked before I had the treatment added.
If you get a change call into a dealer and look at the paint swatch that they have and then imagine it slightly lighter. It depends what type of light you are looking at it in. It can seem very deep and dark, or very light and sparkly!
It would be darker that your Platinum Grey...
Great colour though!

Picked up the new car earlier this evening!
The honeycomb section fits behind the original vertically slatted grille - it's not too obvious, looks very neat and gives the front end a little extra - I'm chuffed.
The leccy sunroof works a treat as do the rear parking sensors and heated seats - delighted I chose them as options. The fit and finish of the sunroof and roof trim around it are first class by the way.
Have to say the 16 inch alloys on the Ref Sport are very nice indeed and to be honest it's not too obvious they are actually smaller than the 17's on the Sport. They've put some Goodyear Eagle tyres on which is no bad thing either! Absolutely no concerns about the ride which is taut and responsive.
Nice throaty noise coming out the exhaust - and the FSi engine seems to be quiet with plenty of grunt - only dabbled gently and won't be pushing too hard for a good few months yet though as the car only had 6 miles on the clock!.
With some people with Altea's complaining about the poor sound quality of the stereo, I paid particular attention to this. Have to say the factory setting is pretty flat but once I fiddled with the treble, bass and fade the sound quality was improved no end! No concerns about that at all. I'm not one for super woofers, deafening base and the volume turned up to full blast so for me the standard stereo will be fine.
The sports seats offer plenty of support and once I sorted out the seating position and steering wheel reach/rake I was very comfortable - big, big improvement over the Lupo GTi I handed over! Again if anyone is considering buying a new Leon, get the heated seats they are fab!
Early doors yet, but the car seems to be well built and there are no rattles or dashboard squeaks - in fact I will repeat what I said elsewhere on a thread, I think the ergonmics, look, fit and finish of the dash are just fine - can't see why some people and journalists pick up on it.
Chuffed to bits.
I'll take some pics tomorrow hopefully and get them up on here this week.
I have got a little rattle with the back tweeter on the drivers side but taking it into seat to see if they can sort the problem.
Apart from that and the bluetooth phone book not working everything is great.
Have you got an image of the honeycomb grill please.
