After looking at the great shots taken out there I saw the MOMO strut brace fitted on the silver Cupra.
I've been thinking about getting one myself.
Could anyone tell me about his experience with it - the silver Cupra guy, please step up http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif.
I'd like to hear about it's down side too - If it has any???
Oh, one more thing - the Pipercross ind. kit was mentioned - How is it?I've heard of people loosing HP from it?
Sorry for the long list of Q's . . .
Noam.

Well, I'm not THE silver Cupra guy but I'm one of them with a strut brace. I've found with mine that it tightens the front up as you'd expect. You can throw it through the corners a bit more, don't expect it to perform miracles but for about 60/70 quid supplied and fitted you can't complain. I got mine from Amethyst but it's a SEAT Sport part so your local dealer should be able to sypply and fit if you don't feel like tackling it.

Not in my experience.

I've heard that they don't help either. I haven't experience of it myself.

I've got a Sparco Alloy strut brace in my Cordie and have done about 20k in it since the mod. Front tyre wear is greatly improved. The handling may be a little sharper but not a huge difference.

the guy at trax was mr daz widowson(excuse spelling daz),the only trouble he has had with the induction kit is trying to find a route for a cold air feed, thats what he said to me .he often post here i'm sure he'll give you the low down on it http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Induction kits which use oil on the filters are NOT recommended by some tuners...cos it can screw up the MAF sensor and cost you a packet to replace!!!!

HOWEVER...Darren has had it on his car for a while now...and he said he hasn't experienced any probs so far!!!!

I'm gonna be calling a few filter companies in the next few weeks to see what the latest situation is with kits (induction or panel replacements jobs) for our Seats (esp. 20VT's)....cos i've heard some rumours recently that they might have solved the problem!!!

It certainly made a great noise at Trax anyway.....i'll keep everyone informed.

Thanks all for your replies.I'm still very confused about the perfect ekhaust system and air filter for my 20vt - So here's an idea for a thread:
Why don't people with different setups write in re.to their expereinces with these mods, i.e:
Name
Exhaust type
Induction kit/panel filter type.
Catalytic converter - Yes or No.
General satisfaction from mods(HP, sound , fuel consumption etc.)
Any additional input would be great to complete my search for the best combo.
Next up - suspension, brakes and chips http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
So come on - help a poor chap make up his mind http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Top of turrets had to be drilled.
Note th fit is not good as it was meant for a MK2 Golf and the top of the turrets are a different shape. I will take it of a some stage and alter it for a better fit.

But it looks nice when I polish it.

Noam,

I'm the guy with the silver cupra. The strut brace certainly tightens up the front end but I won't feel the full benefits until I get the car lowered next week..But it does work..As for the induction kit I have had no problems with it at all and have not noticed any loss off power. I swapped between the air box and the induction for a day and didn't notice ant difference. The filter was left dry as Lee (Chungster) has said if it is oiled in can foul up the sensor..

Cheers

Daz

Hi Daz,
Thanks. So did you get any increase in BHP since you had the ind. kit fitted? What's the sound like?
What kind of exhaust system did you fit?
Please tell me 'bout any other mods you've done to her http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
I'm about to lower mine too . . .
Thanks
Noam.

Hi Noam,
I Don't think it has increased the BHP but you get a nice induction roar when you put your foot down.. The exhaust is a Powerflow which I had made which runs from the cat back. The car is booked in this week so it can be lowered by 30mm alround so it should sit a lot nicer on the road. The only other mods that I am thinking of having done is a WRC bumper and then get the car chipped to 195BHP.

Daz..
