View Full Version : Clay Bar - how do you keep yours?
Should I keep it in paper, in the box, or stick it in a freezer bag? (I think I already know the answer, but just want to make sure).
Mine came in a plastic container. I keep it in there. A freezer bag would probably do though (tied up obviously)

Mine didn't. OK - bag it is. Many thanks!

Aye, sealable freezer bag does the job nicely. If it goes hard in storage drop it in a tub of hot water for 5 minutes before using it - softens it up nicely. :)

Someone remind me what you use a clay bar for again? I did know, but now I've forgotten...
Takes all the crud off the paintwork that cannot be shifted by simply washing.
Next time you have a take away, save one of those plastic cartons! I have had mine stored in one of those for almost 18 months, no problems!

if you rub your hand over your car after youve polished it and it feels rough in places then its most likley tar, metal dust from trains, brakes etc.. if you take a clay bar and lubricate the surface of your paint and rub the clay bar soflty backwards and forwards it removes all this safley.. leaving your paint smooth anhd ready to polish.
Ive got to do mine, i picked it up on thursday and the paint loooks ok, but feels so rough after i polished it.

Thanks all - I've been out and got a few zip lock bags.
I was also slightly concerned that it didn't say what to do with the instructions, but I soon figured it out, and damn - what a difference it makes! Next time I go mad cleaning the car, it's being bought out again!

Dampen it and wrap in clingfilm - mines been well over a year now and not dried out one little bit.
