View Full Version : XL Dynatwist on Mk4 FR
Hi Bill, I know i already have the Dynatwist kit you made up for me, but i have noticed that i am geting a lot better performance running it as an open cone!! I know this may sound crazy and comletly different to what everyone else says, and the only thing i can put it down to is larger exposed area. So i was hoping to ty an XL filter, i know its tight in the gap, but it may improve performance a bit, but worth a shot, so how much will it be , and whats the best number to get you on to order it. Cheers mate.
Also you know much about Nitrous on 1.8T's?????

yep more surface area exposed and the downside of hot engine bay air to breath in. XL is large in the MK4 engine bay but I have fitted on in.. snugly.

*hoping* it arrives tomorrow to you as most couriers dont do saturday deliveries unless you donate an arm and a leg.
Hey Bill, got it all on monday and have whacked it all on.
However oif anyone asks, i does not fit the Mk4 1.8T, as you do not have enough space to fit a CAI to it, due to the opening going straigh onto the wing. I am modifying the cover this weekend as i have tested it and it seems to run a lot better as an open to air, filter ( i kno it should'nt but it does)
Anyway, s if anyone asks i would say nope to fiting it to a 1.8T, Just for your info.
Unless someone takes the time to have a proper stainless or carbon air intake made up for it that runs under the battery and over the starter motor, but that would be a lot of hasle and time.
Cheers as ever Bill, cracking bit of kit and service

its a shame on MK4's generally as they have obstructed the easy ways of feeding air in on the majority of induction kits. something like the RamAir by nature of its slightly smaller housing than XL Dynatwist, and flexi intake pipe, but this still has to bend under the CAI to feed from the OE position.
