the adjusting knob for my seat recline mechanism has become loose.
i could not find anything on it in the haynes manual. does anyone know how i can tighten it before it finally comes off?
thanks so much.

loose? are you talking about the ergonomic shaped round knob at the side of the seat? if so, does in not just push back on... think ill go down to the car in a while and have a wee look, what model do you have btw??

yup, i am referring to that plastic ergonomically shaped knob on the side of the seats of my 96 cordy saloon. they seem to tighten a bit when i rotate them clockwise but i cannot totally eliminate the slack which might eventually damage the plastic cap's locking groove. i figure there must be a way to remove them to be able to return them PROPERLY. my guess: do i just yank the ergonomically shaped plastic cover off to reveal some kind of bolt which i can tighten?

id say, get a price on replacement plastics, then if its abvailable, try taking it off and looking for a screw, otherwise ask someone in the richardsons thread.
