i hope someone can help me, but where does everyone buy their microfibre clothes, i have seen various different types, but dont know which to go for.
i am looking for something to aply and remove the meguires 3 stage deep crystal polish and waxes, as they are a pain to remove.
ps. does any one else use these and what is the best way to use them as they seem to leave a haze unless you use alot of elbow grease
thanks in advance
I get them from the Warehouse Clearance store. Loads around the country. Cost me a quid each.

You need a work towel, with a tight weave. Some of the best towels are supplied by Pakshak in Hawaii - fortunately you can get them in the UK from Clean and Shiny (.co.uk). I wouldn't recommend going for dirt cheap towels from the pound store - the difference in quality is vast, and cheap towels have been known to cause swirling - the last thing you want. Hope that helps. :)

I would agree with WX51 TXR the quality between the bottom end microfibre and a good decent one is vast I have been using a brand called Sonus I find them very good indeed not cheap but will last You a very long time.
Have a look on the Autopia website there is a load of car detailing info on there and You can order products to also try Mark at car sparkle he has some top notch products for sale at reasonable prices to.
Pakshak ultra plush are the best I've tried, and at only £3.25 I think they are a mega-bargain, especially compared to Meguiars supreme shine MF towels (£15 for 3!).

Hello,
I've had to remove my zymol stock as I'm having a spat with them at the moment but it looks like I've came up trumps so will be reinstating it shortly. The offshoot of this is that I've removed all my pad/microfibre stuff but this will be resolved in the next few days.
Should have CarLack 68 (Klasse AIO), Zaino and ION in stock within the next few days including some decent brands of Microfibre (pakshak included) cloths.

Erm, how do you intend to sell Pakshak microfibres - I was under the impression that Clean & Shiny have an exclusive contract with them?

Oh I'll double check then in case I've got the supplier wrong but apparently Zymol UK has an exclusive contract too. ;)
Please be aware that there may be alternative brand name to the same cloth - most manufacturers do it depending on who they are selling to.
edited to add:
Just double checked, please bear with me just so I can confirm something with the supplier as I was not aware any exclusive contracts were in place.
I don't think it's exclusive, they are official UK distributors for Pakshak but it's not exclusive.
Alot of people on Autopia rave about Zaino, so will be interesting to see what you get in.

That's not true, Clean and Shiny have exclusive rights to the distribution of MICROPAK products in the UK... and that came from Ranney himself.
Says nothing on Pakshak or Clean and Shiny about them being exclusive UK distributors, surely putting all your eggs in one basket doesn't make good business sense? Maybe they are, but it's not written anywhere to say they are, I don't know.

I contacted Ranney to ask if I could become a distributor... that's when I found out. Was gutted to say the least. :(
Ah I see, I wonder why C&S aren't shouting about it then, no matter.
Have found an excellent supplier of Micrifibre cloths..... Tesco's Extra !!! £1.97 ea :D

Poundland do stuff too. My girlfriend got me a micro fibre duster, 3 cloths and a pack with 3 microfibre sponge applicators in it...............all for £5!!!!
I've used more expensive cloths and these ones are just as good. They are not as big but you can just use more of them!! ;)
guess where I'll be off to at the weekend !!! ;)
theres 3 packs ,1, 2pack or 1 big one,not bad quality, they even do a kiwi yellow one :cartman:
Good luck with all the damage they'll do to your paint - cheap usually means cr*p when it comes to MF. Highly unlikely they're anywhere close to being as good as any decent MF towels. I'd rather buy 2 really good ones than 10 sh*te ones.
I have some el cheapo Tesco ones I use for household cleaning - they are pure garbage next to a Pakshak towel.

Maybe things have changed but the Zymol MF towels I have are no where near similar to the Pakshak ones. Pakshak are much better.
Agree with the folks warning against cheapo towels from tesco/dunelm/whatever. Ok for glass and interior but don't use 'em on your paint unless you like the micro-scratched paint look.

I have Megs ones as well and was sceptical about the cheap ones but they are good. I did a cd test with them and they were fine.
I did buy a vileda one and it was crap. I use it for glass now.
My car is also silver so it won't show up swirls as much but I have looked really closely at the paint and it looks fine.

Hi Guys,
1st Post! Woohooo!
Was pointed in the direction of your forum by an existing member....
Just thought I would pop in and say Hi!
Im not here to sell my wares but more to answer some questions that have been raised in this post :)
We have been shouting about the Microfibres as any of you who have looked at the homepage of our site will know..! (there is a big ad on the homepage) but our best advert for sure is our customers and word of mouth... I mean you guys here are talking about them and we havent even been onto the forum before.. Thank you :)
With regards to the post about having one UK exclusive distributor, we are finding that this is becoming the norm from companies in the USA... Take a look at www.pinnaclewax.co.uk and see where that takes you... but when we approached Pinnacle in the USA we were told they already had a UK distributor and didnt want another! Even though we had an existing established site and the domain and the experience they were happy with just one distributor. The same with Wheel Wax, they only want one UK distributor..... They have a minimum stock order (The same as Pakshak and Pinnacle do) and to give you an idea its appox $9000 US Dollars to bring in the amount of stock you need to be the UK disty..! If someone here does want to do wheel wax though let me know ;) Ill buy it from you :D
As for the Pakshak towels... OMG they are good... I could almost sleep on them.. .the Ultra Plush are just that soooooo plush....
Well thats it for now....
You have been a great audience :)

Hi all,
regarding these pakshak towels i was told the best polishing clothes were 100% cotton. the pakshak are 70% Polyester and 30% Polyamide..
cheers
great site by the way..
Cotton is not as soft or as durable as microfibre, especially after a few washes - there are very few towels that can compare to the Pakshak ultra-plush towels, perhaps the Cobra ultra-plush ones that Ron at Motorgeek is selling now are close.

OK time to get flamed, what about the very short pile Microfiber Spontex Window Wonder type......expensive though....and they don't really look like a MF

Well, the Pakshak thing completely fell through - even though it was via a third party. :D
However, we are very pleased to annouce that we have struck a deal with the actual manufacturer of a very high quality MF towel with 70/30 mix. Prior to this will be getting a box of samples through so will be interesting doing some comparisons. As an interesting aside, I actually approached one brand name of the MF towels and it was actually themselves who passed me onto the manufacturer who turn mentioned some very prominant brand names who they also supply so I can't wait to find out if they are an exact match.

Hi Jon,
thank you for the generous offer I will contact you asap as it will be good to stock an additional recognised MF brand. Shipping charges and VAT are not too bad as we use a freight forwarder to manage all our logistics and import duties (or lack of) probably pretty much the same as your self.

I can vote for the Pakshak ultra-plush towels - I got 3 (already had 1 Poorboys MF cloth from motorgeek - cheers Ron!), and they are excellent - on the 'fluffy' side, the fibres are so soft you can't really 'feel' the cloth, if that makes sense - they seem so soft that you can tell it's in your hand, but you can't feel the individual loops of fibre... *shut up, geek!!* :)
Very good, had a few machine washes, and feel just as plush....
I have yet to try the Pakshak ones. I have just received an order of 3 different types of microfibre cloths; one is Aquatouch not sure of the other brand names. Will put them to the test later, anything has got to be better and cheaper than the Meguiars MF cloths I picked up in Halfrauds sure it cost was something like 10 quid.
