Ive got 97 spec bumpers front and rear on my 95 ibiza but now i want rid of the grille! Apparently the lights are different, and the mounts are wrong but is it the same shape, size etc. Ive seen a white ibiza with this grille and its a L reg or is it on private plates..... please help.

I'm quite expert in the front of the 97 spec Ibizas. I know all about the differences of the headlamps, indicators and grilles!
That white beezer on that picture does not look good (begging onwners pardon), because it has got the old (smaller) headlamps and indicators but the new grille! You may notice ca. 8mm gap between the grille and headlamp (best visible on the left side) because the glass bulb of the old lamps are smaller which does not reach the grille at all, making an ugly hole there! You may put the 97 spec grille on yours, but it will look the same strage (bad in my opinion), not talking about mounting differences (problems) below the indicators (just check the worthless alignment).
Another example is the following car, which is 97 spec but has got the old, smaller headlamps (probably originals have been broken) in it causing the same gap. The guys made the situation even worse with using the original (new) indicator bulbs on the old headlamps causing additional alignment problems between new indicator & old headlamp (indicators protrude, because headlamps are smaller -- harldy, but seen).

However, there is a grille available which has got a similar design (no mounted seat badge in the middle) and which fits to old spec ibizas (with old headlamps & indicators) perfectly. Sadly i don't know its ordering number (maybe Flapper knows it), but it looks like the following:

I think it's the grille of the 96 spec Ibiza GTI 1.8 16V. Note, that this car has got old headlamps + indicators, but a newer grille which looks OK. I also can see this grille (with old lamps) on 97 spec cordies, too.

If you guys get any joy with a part number for the grill can you let me know, as i`m after the same.
Also just for your info Carl, just ordered some Xenon lights and clear side repeaters from Amethyst. Service there is excellent + very helpfull. Also jsut ordered some side skirts from my local dealer for the bargain price of £85 + vat inc all fittings.

Matt were the skideskirts that price for a pair or each??? Just got mine for £10 each!!!! Also twin pipe sportex exhaust brand new for £25!!! How are the bumpers going????

That price was for the pair with fittings, brand new. Didnt think it was too bad.
Havn`t found any bumpers as yet. Any luck with your grill. I think i`m going to buy a second 95 grill and mod it myself with a bit of mesh.

ps. where on earth did you manage to get an exhaust for that price?
Is there a local breaker who specialises in seat near you as you seem to have no probs finding parts?

ive got a metallic blueish grille frame , WITH a mesh in it on display if you want it , and ill only charge you for the mesh , hows that sound ??
PS ive got 4 other meshes in stock as well if anyone wants em
