Hi guyz! n possibly galz?

I bought a black Ibiza Cupra Turbo a few months back and have done about 3.5k miles in it now. The thing is wicked. It has been back in for a couple of squeaks on the door panels and I need to get the accelerator fixed as it rattles a little when I take my foot off to decelerate (around 2.8k rpm). Other than those minor niggles I have had no problems with mine other than squeaking/howling brakes when at low speeds in traffic, which the garage couldn't explain so I will take it back again as it hasn't gone away.

That said, I am happy. I am looking at the possibilities of modding my car, thought about maybe lowering it a bit if possible? and at chipping it. I have had concerns over what you tell the insurance company and whether or not my local dealer is going to assist me in the matter and will support my servicing? as I have heard rumours that once you mod your car they ignore you and refuse to service it.

I would be really appreciative of any info people can give me on the best options for modding my Cupra and getting the most out of it as I know there are more horses hiding under that bonnet just waiting to get out http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

I look forward to whatever inof people can give me on what can be done and some idea of how much things cost, as I am not a mechanic in the slightest, I just love cars and driving.

Cheers..

Ive got those annoying brakes at low speed aswell, a real pest!

My car rattles a bit aswell, mainly under the seat, its terrible

Still love it tho

Chips, silicon style, vary in cost £700-£900 depending on who you buy from, should release 40+BHP and a load more torque.

Exhausts, not that many that i know of, supersprint, remus and powerflow, oh yeah and Miltek.

Suspension, have seen the Bilstein PSS9 kit, very nice and very adjustable, also very expensive £900 sheets. (gulp)

try www.sjbsport.co.uk (http://www.sjbsport.co.uk) and give John a buzz.

If you press them hard you end up smacking your head on the windscreen but without any noise, press them lightly and they squeal like a stuck pig.

Pain in the bum!

Oh My God..!! well at least it isn't just me that has the problem.

Have any of you taken your cars back into the dealer and asked them about them? I did, they just turned to me and said theyhad tested them and they worked fine..!! I KNOW THE SODDIN WORK OK, but they sounds like sh*t. lol

I have actually started braking harder and later to avoid the annoying and embarrasing squeeling from the brakes when in traffic. The people in the cars infront don't like it as they think I am gonna hit them as they then see my car nose dip into the ground and my head bang off the steering wheel..!!

Is there a way to get rid of it? Would better brake pads help out? Something like "greenstuff" ones? Has anyone contacted SEAT about it? will they replace them as part of the warranty (car has only done 3330 miles)??? I am a bit annoyed. I have had to take my car in for a problem with the seat too, the drivers seat actually moved and rocked back and forth when accelerating and then braking.. they fixed it with new bushes, but it is back like it again, and I am only 13 stone so not a fat bloke.

I am really busy at the moment so I don't have chance to pop into the garage to ask them the questions, but if I knew there was something thatthey could do and SEAT would pay for it on the warranty then I wil be down there like a shot..!!

Many Thanks for your comments.. let me know if youhave any success stories or advice.. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Cheers..

Usually this is due to a lack of copper-grease (or similar) on the backs of the pads...giving a squeel unless pressed hard.

I would demand that the dealer sort it out....if they sort out rattles in doors etc then they should damn well sort out squeeling brakes!

Failing that - Kwik-Fit will probably do it for a tenner http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
