I've just bought a Coldside DV relocation kit. I have to say, the ribbed length of black tubing is fairly ugly and i'd like to replace it with something more aesthetically pleasing.
I notice it's supported with wire - is this and the ribbing neccasery to stop the tube collapsing?
If not, can i just buy a length of smooth black hose to replace it? Something like this:

Cheers for your help
straight tubes don't bend though - hence the ribbed stuff

guess i could maybe get some big i.d silicone hose and cover the ribbed tube with that?
the bigger diameter won't bend though
If you worked it all out you could make it out of straight bits with a couple of 90 degree bends?
would cost a lot though

yeah, i was just looking at elbows. not sure about how well they would seal into the straight tubing.
how are elbows made, are they straight tubes just heated and bent or are they 'cast' in that shape?
may have to live with a large ribbed black rubber phallus under my bonnet
they're cast in that shape (well wound....)
Stop fussing. Shut the bonnet and drive the damn thing

Audi part # 06B133989C is a nice 90° plastic elbow with handy collars for hose clamps. No idea how much they cost, but a couple of them and a metre of 25mm silicone hose strategically chopped should do the trick.
Sorry.
Like m0rk says, 25mm elbows. For straight pipe try some 22mm chrome plated copper pipe from B&Q (as featured on some of the best big turbo conversions) works a treat. You can "swage" the ends quite easily by hitting it with a hammer  if you need to. Doesn't matter about flow, it's just there to drop pressure.
I feel so guilty . I 've got some 25mm brushed stainless if you need some.
I've got a slight problem with mine, i cheated a bit and made my own kit from bits from Forge, now i have a 25mm elbow and a 22m straight tubing with no connector, and ideas where i can get a straight reducer for this?
And i have straight silicong hose not the re-inforced hoses, will it make a difference?
Tighten the jubilee clip up nice and tight - it'll be fine ;) Edit: Don't forget that the "outlet" side of the DV is at low pressure...
The reinforced stuff doesn't kink when you bend it through tight-ish bends, that's the only practical difference.

The superflex is used as the guys are saying to stop the kinking , pretty it isnt but it is effective.
Phil let me know what you need
Cheers
Peter

Peter, I should be ok with the bits i have thanks.
But i'll do a trial run tonight to see what theyre like, but i might give you a shout for a 22/25mm reducer/connector.
Thanks.
