Yep, just found this place selling Porter Cable machines in the UK - final price including P+P, VAT, etc. is £111.76. You'll still need the 110/240v transformer but still, alot better than the £200+ some places are trying to charge.

:wtf: Rock bottom price... but it's still not CE certified. Surprised at how many online stores are taking the risk.

Have you tried to buy one?

Final price is £130 so more than autopia and you may get hit by customs!

Its from a uk supplier so how can you get hit by customs?

^^ its not from a uk supplier at all

I can't think what gave it away for me though, maybe it was the 'toll free' number? Or maybe that fed-express ship it?

;-)

Guys its from america plain and simple! Would a uk company charge you £30 for posting 2.6kg?

Federal express ain't royal amil either!

^^I just rang that number - enough said. I could handle about 10 seconds of the womans californian whine before replacing the handset

Fair enough  , but if that company says the product will be at your door for £111.76 then surely any other charges incurred will be there responsibility no?

^^Could well be Danny, maybe they ship to their uk branch who deliver to you, either way its no cheaper than buying one from autopia. A pc kit plus transformer, cables etc will always cost around the £160-£180 mark.

Defo worth checking if you are gonna order - cos if it's delivered direct to you and it's not labelled as a gift or similar, you'll get stung for import duty. Fed Ex pay it on your behalf then invoice you for it later.

That's why I like Autopia - they just write on the box that the contents are worth less than $25 - no duty to pay, yippee! :D

Didn't realise it was a US site, being a .co.uk address etc. Autopia is probably still the way to go, the PC is still on sale at $119.95 with a free bottle of polish too.

Do you mean the SFX kit John? If so thats hardly priveleged information is it now? Autopia are curently doing a special offer for everyone 20% just tap 'SFX' into the coupon box.

john_wintle

That's just for the kit though, and that offer is only on for a short while, whereas this one has been running for quite a bit longer. Don't know if the SFX code will give you money off anything else either. Will have to try it and see.
