View Full Version : Moorside of Huddersfield
Had the car in today for its first service - 10000 miles.
Cost was £115 which included a bit of a clean - actually without the 2 tonnes of dirt on it seems to be pulling a little better LOL
They did it whilst I waited and on the day I wanted it doing at the time I wanted it doing.
No problems with being an import.
Much better service than JCT at Leeds who had NEVER returned one of my calls yet
WOW HOO Another fellow Yorkshire man!!
Glad you had some joy with your service. - I was looking for this garage the other week but couldn't find it - but I don't really know Huddersfield well. What's it near?
I've not bought my Leon Cupra yet but I've been going round garage's and seeing what they have to offer. - I was put off by JCT600 Leeds too they were very unprofessional and didn't know what they were talking about. - I thought it typical and not surprising when they sent me a new Leon brochure with the sales guys business card. - He had to tip-ex someone else name off and write his own on top. - WHAT A JOKE!!

I cannot fault Trentons in Hull, (see my post), After I ordered my "2003" Cupra from Trentons, I telephoned JCT just to see how they would react, and what info they had, and was told that there was a new Cupra in the pipeline, but no confirmed delivery time, AND the car would be no different to the old model, not very helpful reply:fist: :uzi:

So its not just me who isn't a fan of JCT 600 in Leeds, I bought my Leon Cupra from there, but I have since found that the cost of servicing it there is very high. Just had a 20k service done, £230!!! the 10k service was not much better, £130!
The staff dont seem to be intrested in you once you have bought the car, not once have they returned my phone call! Once I have got through to them they seem very arrogant! Unfortunatly my other local dealership in York (Wills & Ellis) dont seem much better! I think I shall be taking my car else where to get it serviced from now on, but where??

JCT 600 are a VERY large dealer network, they deal in almost all cars, from Mazda upto Porsche, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Bentley to name a few. I get the impression that organisations this size don't care if they loose the odd customer.
As A VERY happy customer over the last 12 months of Trentons in Hull, I recommend you give them a try, I appresiate you live a long way from them. but they do offer a car to use.
read my recommendations in the "dealers" forum for more details, I have posted 2 in the last 100 days.

I bought from JCT in Bradford which also happens to be the third SEAT I have bought privately from them (my wifes two Ibiza 2.0 litre 8v cupras and my current Leon Cupra 20vt).
I booked it in for a 10k service saying the following also needed attending to..
1: steering pulling slightly to left
2: headlamps adjusted too high and dazzling other cars
ref 1 ..They said they hadn't checked the tracking or geometry for me as they needed a weeks notice to get in an outside contractor with lazer equipment. The funny thing was I booked the service two weeks in advance.
ref 2 .. They made the lights even worse..they were lighting up the trees and I couldn,t even see the road! When I told them they said they were busy and couldn,t rebook it in straight away.I told them the car was undrivable in that condition(it was winter ie Dark) they said they'd ring me back(didn,t)
I did it myself with an allen key and sent them a bill for £60 which to their only credit they paid without question Remember this you guys!
Anyway now wer'e also on the subject of Yorkshire lads I put a post in the LEON forum titled ..on the piss again??? have any of you lads from yorkshire read it yet?

Cheers - I think it might be worth the trip there in future, besides my Girlfriend keeps harping on about wanting a trip to that new underwater aquarium thing there so I should be able to combine them both! :) Besides, Hull is only an hour down the M62!
JCT seem to dominate the car dealerships in Yorkshire, I would rather see my money go to a more independant dealership. Last time I took the Leon in for a service they told my brake pads were worn making out that they were criticaly worn, I asked them how much? They said 40% at the front 20% at the rear, Iasked in there opinon, did they need replacing and 'no' was the reply. So I said, why are you telling me this then, the car has done 20K miles, of course they are gonna be worn!
Mark Sheerin, I can't find the link to your post - or am I just been thick?!? Can you post the link to it? Then I can read it!

hello - i didn't know there were so many cupra owners in yorkshire!
i havn't used JCT but from reading this stuff i am certainly put off. My experience of Wills & Ellis in York is not very good either.
There is a SEAT garage that opened in Wakefield last year but i don't know how good they are. Has anyone used them??
Hey Yorkies !
I'm also looking for a dealer to start servicing my spanking new Leon Cupra Import, and actually drove past Moorside last week coming back from a friends house in Holmfirth. Sounds like they might be worth a try, anyone else used them at all ??
JCT600 did not impress me at all with customer service when I was interested in buying a car . . . god knows what they'd be like if I asked them to service an import, don't think I'll risk it. Also Bradford doesn't sound too good judging by the above, so it might be a trip out Huddersfield way for me in ten months or so . . .
The SEAT dealer in Huddersfield is actually in Meltham (about 10 minutes outside Huddersfield)
I found it by following the directions on Multi Map - not too difficult as Meltham is only small (there is a Supermarkek at the bottom of a hill - follow the road and you will come to it)
They did it whilst I waited (well went for lunch) - took 1.5 hours.
OK with the Import and actually returned calls!
I work in Leeds so the JCT garage would have been better but the attitude is poor so there was no way I was chasing them up for an appointment and giving them my money.

I have just found out that David Penman in Darlington is VERY good. So good in fact that I am gonna be placing an order for Leon Cupra R tomorrow! :D Eben though I have had my currant Cupra for only a year :)
The reason I chose Penmans is that a few guys at work have been and commented how good they are, they are cheaper than JCT600 and also they are only 45mins up the A1!
