Has anyone driven a VW Bora TDi sport, just how does it compare with the Leon? The Pro's for the Leon first. Well the looks r nice, the drive is very good, seat r good and the equipment. Downsides r iffy paint and dubious resale. The VW, has a nice feel to it - feel your getting a quality product, the resale value. Negative - probabally not very sporting. Anyone got any views to help me make my mind up welcome

The Bora being a saloon is more comparable to a Toledo whereas the Golf and the Leon are both hatchbacks - all based on the same Golf / A3 layout as indeed is the Octavia.

My view is Toledo TDI SE 150 - import only at present or Bora Sport TDI

Or

Golf GT TDi 150 or Leon ?????

Well you only get the Leon in the 110 at present in RHD.

If it was my choice I would go for the Toledo:jog:

My mate has a Bora TDi Sport PD 115. The PD engine is nicer, although the Bora, good looking as it is, is a bit soft and spongy, even in Sport trim. Now mine is chipped it is easily quicker than his Bora, even though mine is giving about the same 229lb/ft torque as the PD, its top end power is alot stronger.

I would go for the Toledo TDi 150, although again, the suspension is softer, and certainly not sporty as per the Bora..... Had VW brought the Bora Estate over hear I would certainly have gone for that and opted for the Sport suspension pack...but there you go, us brits dont get half the models that Europe does.... Even the the US gets a Bora Estate.

I don't think it's worth geting the Toledo unless it's the 150 version, or maybe I should say that I personally would buy a TDI that isn't a PD anymore (unless it's a very good deal). One of my friends has the Bora PD115. Differences:
1- Interior finish is a bit better on the Bora.
2- He's got the wood grain interior which I really like (even though I perfer the cabon fiber interior).
3- The soundproofing is better on the bora.

I'm not sure how VW works up in the UK but the major reasons why I bought my toledo instead of the bora was the price, since you basically get the same car (few differences) alot cheaper (3500 euros).

Neil,
I think the estate is marketed under the Golf not the bora name plate.

In germany they do a Golf and a Bora Estate, also in the US...I saw one today in San Diego, both on the street, and in a magazine ad...... it's "car lovers" heaven out here...:D

I'm surprised you dont get a Bora Estate in Spain. Basically they market it as the upmarket alternative to the Golf Estate, i.e, better engines such as TDi 150 and 2.8V6.
