Got an Ibiza Gti Cupra and wanting to get from 115Bhp to 130Bhp if poss. Anybody done a project or got this sort of power before?
You've probably got about 125BHP anyway as the 115 figure is very conservative. My old one was 126 (standard), have seen plenty of others at 128-130. Just a chip/remap should be enough to push it to 130.
It does seem like more than 115. It actually revs very cleanly upto the limiter which suprised me for a 8v motor. Has anyone tried using an oil catch tank before? Some one also told me you can get more power by using an oil cooler! Going to be using it for a track day (the Nurburgring to be precise). We went in May with a Leon 110 Se and it was great round the corners. Brilliantly stable but lacking in Omph. Thought we would use the Ibiza next year and tie it down with some decent dampers and springs. Not too stiff and low as it would lose a bit of forgiveness. We got round in the Leon in 10m 20 secs. Hoping to dip below 10 mins in the Ibiza with a clean run.
An oil cooler wont give you any power - at all.
