Well it finally happened, with the car being only 4-5 inches off the ground at the bottom of the lip on the f2 bumper, it finally hit a bump and got badly damaged. Was moving out of the grass carpark at the lurgan park rally, wheni went over some bumpy surfaces the car dipped nose first into a hollow then back up but the rise was too sharp and basically knocked the bumper up into the grill, in the process cracking open the two struts, pushing the mesh ompetely back off the bumper and also splitting the lip in half, if that wasnt bad enough the wings also got bent because of the way the bumper went up and back.
Looks like im going to be back to my 16v bumper again as i still have it sitting in a paintshop. One good thing i suppose means i dont have to crawl over the speed bumps anymore.
Whoops! oh well, lowered cars were not designed to go offroad:(
Ouch!
Brendy, borrow my smiley.

really sorry to hear it brend,as i have said to you i have fect mine on many occasion, but on the early cars there are two bolts going into the wing(one each side)this helps as they snap off as soon as the front takes a knock maybe yo could adapt yours to act this way in future?? hope it's not beyond repair they are getting scarce apparantly.good luck bloke:cheers:

Jace, Im so in shock, i had to go out and get pissed, and also got a 20 minute snog of a cracking wee lassy !! you should know me by now!, i got myu bumper for 50 quid and had it sprayed and fitted for 200 sheets, so i think ill be paying a little more that from now!! chances are that the bumper is ****$d but there is always a possibility that it can be fixed, trouble is if it is worthwhile!! i'll post a pic tomorrow morning. Shi$ter id that the left side of the bumper has cracked completely to the point where it was neary seperated off the bumper!! the grille an d the struts (two of) are completely seperated from the bumper, though none of the partshave been completely seperated)
HHHHEEEELLLLPPPPPP cordy thats afraid to show its face in public!!! im disusted ( seriously).

Lucky i think its more the long lip that does it, if it could be made shorter, ie lower side profile, it would be more practical.
Btw John Burton doesnt seem to be operating at the moment, if I was you id get in contact with richardsons as I think they will still supply them and paint/fit if you live within driving distance.
