Im not looking for anything major as i dont want to remove the standard look for the car, any recomendations on a new set of speakers that will just go in without cutting etc...... for front and rear and tweeters..... Any makes or part numbers would be appreciated,

cheers... for that, lastly have you or any1 dealt with bass tubes???? as i think they look more stock and take up less room especially if they got a built in amp!! recomendations?? Lastly is there anything i can do to increase the power output of stereo (OMG its only 20w) without ****ing about with an amp

Never used a bass tube mate so cant comment

An amp is the best way to increase output, its not too much p@ssing about, a decent enough installer should be able to sort it if you're not too keen, dont know of any other ways to do it

i hooked up 3 amps in last install in previous car but dont want the hassle of running, rca's, positive, ground, remote and speaker wire... Also dont want an amp on view clogging limited boot space... I thought there was something you could hook off the back of the head unit to give u an increase of about 100%/150% being 50wx4 but not sure, thought u might know

Im very interested in that aswell. I have 6x9's on the back shelf and had an amp bought b4 I was told that there is no pre-out at the back of the head-unit to run it.
I know you can have a speak to speaker connection but the quality isnt wont it though.
Not that Im looking for subs and all the rest, just think of getting higher watt speakers and tweeders but if its not going to be able to out-put good quality sound Im not going to bother

Any Ideas?
Help appreciated

Thank,
Sean

guys you all need to have a chat to Tim at Unique Sounds in Surrey, he did an install on my beeza cupra, last year and although your right there is no out puts on the back of the standard head unit, he had all the answers. He supplied and fitted JL Audio VR525 CS in the front, there component so mids and tweets. he got some fancy gadget that has a mini isa plug??? which apparently does go in the back of the unit to create outputs, he seriously is a top banana. Also If your looking at space saving for a sub then he also does a great line in stealth boxes, which take up bugger all room.

I've got one of those fitted in my Beezer. It's made by SONY. I can't remember the model number and can't find the bleeding box anywhere. :(

It's 50x4, I've got it powering a set of 6x9's in the shelf and the standard fronts and tweeters. It does me nicely. You wont make any grannies wet themselves at 50 paces so if you're into posing with the windows down it aint for you.

Mine is hidden in the dash in the space under the gearstick/ashtray area. It's perfect sized, it plugs into the connector on the back of the stereo and the speaker wires plug into the other side. Piece of p*ss. You don't even know it's there so your boot space is fine.

I had it fitted by Amethyst, the last time I was there they had one in their display cabinet. It was about 100 notes I think. Give em a call.

Try that post. It's got piccies and details. (Ignore the bit about JBL 6x4's. I binned them and got the 6x9's, much more bassy.)

Sort of matey. (There's a picture in the post up there ^^^^^)

Mine has direct connections into and out of the amp with the block of wires from the head unit. It doesn't have the phono connections (I think).

I'll try and find the box, it can't be too far.

Sorry for replying to myself. (No one else speaks to me anyway. ;))

Here is a post from last year from the great god that is Flapper:

---------------------
XM-423SL , sony 4*55w , soon to be available as a 4*80w

fits "JUST" into the centre console , as for wiring , it comes with a pre wired loom , which fits straight into the head unit , and unit wiring then plugs straight into the loom . other end , again one plug straight into the AMP , only wiring needed is an earth near the amp .

wiring connectors are standard DIN so will fit ANY newish unit .

as for the amp both front/rear are adjustable for frequency and gain , so you can play with it as you get better speakers , andy's above is set roughly 40frnt 60rear and it sounds cool

as for speakers see above for best option , rumours of a stealth shelf around soon too .

too be honest STD head unit will run 6*9's in the rear ok , if you want more add the amp later

--------------------------

Hope that helps lads.

Cheers
Andy
