I use the megs version, basically because thats what I could find, pretty certain all clay bars are pretty much of a much.

Jase- you sure you were using it right :p

I was under the impression that there were only two, maximum three, manufacturers of clay bars.
The yellow bar, grey bar (this is 3M) and the green stuff from Sonus.
In terms of abrasion they run green, yellow, grey in increasing rubbage.

Think there's a few more than that - Megs do the consumer version, plus two pro versions with different rubbing power. Other manufacturers I know of include Clearkote, Sonus, Optimum, Poorboys, (Pinnacle/Wolfgang/DP). :)

Whats the best way to apply it, i know its needs lubrication, but do u just hold it in your hand and glide across the paintwork ?

Yes, let it sit in warm water first for 5 mins to soften it up. Then mould it into a nice flat shape, apply lots of lube to a small area and rub gently backwards and forwards (no pressure needed). 4-5 passes normally lifts away any muck, but you can sort of feel when it's clean (you'll have to try it to understand). Wipe up any excess lube as you go with a detailing microfibre. :)

M'kay. But how many of those people manufacture the bars versus rebrand?

Optimum is from scratch as far as I know, Sonus may well be rebranded. Not sure about the others... will post if I find out. :)
