From reading different posts on the forums I am slightly concerned about chipping my Cupra. People saying about faulty MAF sensors
Can people give me some suggestions on who does the best chip, any problems etc? Prices?
I want to hit the glorious 200 bhp barrier, would a induction kit and chip make this happen?
Is the one from SJB Sports any good?
Many Thanks
Dan:rolleyes:

Its not the chipping that knackers your MAF, its *usually* down to oil off filters, ala ind. kits, best one to go for is the Hurricane supplied by IbizaCupra aka Bill Brockbank www.badger5.co.uk
Chip wise, best off looking at.

MAF's are very fragile items, its been known that they have been put into cars broken at the factory.
Also new ones sent to parts departments sometimes turned up broken in the post, cause they are that fragile.
Also sensitivity to air filter oil is a common issue.
Chipping as Saul says is very unlikely to be a cause of MAF failure.
Chip wise go to Jabbasport near Peterborough. Excellent chip and service, mapped to suit you and your car. £285 +vat they are the best value and you get over 200BHP, usually 205-210 and about 220lbs/ft torque.
The other favorate is APR but they are a lot dearer but have some nice additional toys you can add.

Has anyone here got a Jabba Sport chip?
Any side affects?
What performance increase is there?
New 0-60 times?
Cheers
Dan
Mines been great 211BHP @1barg on 95RON petrol. I'd recommend it to anyone. My mate had his wifes one done and she's well pleased as well. Rough 0-60 6.5ish.
Fuel consumption is same under normal driving so only advantages in my book.

got jabba chip in january and have loved it since - 222lbft torque, 200 ish bhp - my last run the car was hot so the figures appeared down from the run before which showed 210bhp - did not get a print out of it, but round about these figures.
0-60 recorded at 6.63 at bruntingthorpe with two up and wheel spin and was one of 7 or 8 consecutive runs, so the heat build up could have reduced power.
all in all an excellant chip, that gives around 200bhp and mid 6 second 0-60's, can follow std scooby turbos up to highly illegal speeds and my fuel conmsumption is the same as before.
SEAT despite looking for it, never found the chip when they discovered the ECU had been removed (my fault, i put in a boost gauge and didn't put the ECU back in the cradle properly)
i can go back any time and have the chip reprogrammed for other mods etc.
i'm not biased, just pleased with the chip and service and have no experience of any other chips who may or may not be better.
money well spent.
I think the bottom line is, that they all do really what they claim to do, and that is make a car quicker, and whole heap of fun. :D
Lots of chips, and satisfied customers across the board, i say make an informed decision, speak to owners, speak to the companies, and make your mind up.
Some may offer something you think you want that others can't, some may provide a litte more power or, they may just be more convenient, ie closer if you develop problems, or want more work doing..
At the end of the day though, they all make the car a lot more fun, and id highly reccomend a remap whoever produces it. :)

Thanks boys.
Thats sealed the deal for me.
When I get my Cupra on Thursday night, I run it around for a while and then get the chip, I wanna feel the standard car compared to the chipped car.
Thanks again!
just a quick question guys, are you running your chipped cupra's on the standard brake setup. if no what set up do you have? onlu that i want to chip my beeza and the jabbasport one seems to me as the best route to take.
Hey DannyBoy, what colour's your Cupra? I'm from sunny Bournemouth too, I'll look out for you

Ref a brake setup.
You can get the Cupra-R 4-pot Brembos for your Ibiza and I would personally highly reccomend it having done it myself recently. These things stop!!! :) :) :)
£428 gets you a full kit of bits to convert your motor too. Bargain me thinks. (subject to availability)
I have run on Tarox disks, EBC pads and both are shite, with the Tarox having cracked on me. I also have run on Pagid disks (groved) and they worked, but they have to work so hard on a chipped Ibiza I think they're only just up to the job.
The R's brakes are 305x30 disks with the 4-pot Brembo calipers and work so well. All Cupra's should have come with them I think.

Piccy ^^^^^^^
you will want some decent brakes if chipped.. for sure!

I don't know to be honest.
I can supply you one, but don't know the carriage costs to Greece.
www.tuningconcept.nl make them. Maybe worth asking them?
If you get stuck drop me an email and I will sort something out.
regards
Bill

Mine is standard and for everyday it's not bad. If you push it hard using the brakes all the time they fade from high speed. Saying that I just did a track day at Blyton, tight twisty circuit and they held up very well. Your choice obviously, but I'd see how you go.
