Q. does all our SEATs have to be Dealer serviced ??? or can any VAT Regged Garage providing they use Genuine parts not do the work ???

Surely they can ???

i live 50miles from mine thats the main reason i ask

Thanks

+ the obvious money to be saved from using the local Garage & i trust the Man there as i have known him for 20 years.

Soz i had to ask.

I have heard all the horror stories & thought its not happening to me.
Like changing brake discs n pads at 20k when there is little wrong with them.
what do ya do once you sign the paper it seems if the dealer wants to he could give you a hefty bill & technically you would be none the wiser !

:wtf:

Do a search for Block Exemption and you'll find more than enough answers. :p

as long as...

The garage is VAT reg'd
The parts used are made in the EU (all parts in EU made to the same standards)
The service is carried out to SEAT's service guidelines (inc things like fault code checks)

Question for techie:

Do you know anything about DS Motors in Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes? They are a reasonable busy looking VAG independent specialist, and being less than half a mile away from my office they may be worth a visit.

Also, what would you expect to be a fair price for a 2nd service (it will be 15k miles) on an Alhambra 130TDI?

Thanks,

Chris
