Is there a wax that is hard wearing that can be applied to the car to give the paintwork protection from the salt that will be put all over the worads in the coming weeks??

I use Meg's Gold Class and Swissol at the mo.

Thanks.

In general paint sealants i.e synthetic waxes are slonger lasting than your traditional caranuba waxes. However the weather at the moment (wet, moist air) doesn't lend itself well to the curing/setting up of these sealants. They genberally like to be kept dry for the first 12 hours to enable proper bonding.

If you want the most durable sealant then its zaino or klasse super gloss.

However I can recommend the collinite waxes which are without exception the most durable waxes out there. They are said to last a whole canadian winter. I have used the 845IW and the 476s doublecoat. Both are extrenly durable and detergent proof with 476s having the edge on durability and 845IW having a better shine.

The beading on these waxes is exceptional and you will only remove them by using a solvent or a paint cleaner/abrasive polish.

I'd go down the sealant route if maximum longevity for least effort is what you want, using Klasse AIO as a basecoat, followed by whatever last step product you fancy. Detailers Pride Premium Surface Shield is good (although needs a minumum of 12 hours dry cure time, for sure in the garage at this time of year). Poorboys EX-P is also excellent, as is Wolfgang's Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. :)
