Had my new exhaust fitted yesterday morning by the nice folk at Awesome GTI in Warrington, nr Manchester.
I ordered the Supersprint fully stainless backbox and centre/middle pipe upto CAT. Exit is a single oval 6x4 inch very much like the look of the Cupra R.
Looks the part, i'll have a full feature on the site soon, with images of before and after etc, just getting them developed. (i really need to get myself a Digital Camera) :p
It fits really nicely, Jim who fitted the exhaust for me, said he was impressed with the ease of fitment, as we know some aftermarket systems can not be entirely accurate, this is the first he'd done on a Leon, but as they are primarily VW/Audi specialists this was no obstacle, the whole job was done in a little under an hour.
Awesome are getting more and more enquiries for SEAT tuning products, and can get these very quickly, and they have superb facilities with which to fit, and repair vehicles, as well as full suspension setups/geometry in house tuning, they are APR agents, engine conversions etc. www.awesomegti.com
The sound is what i would describe at tick over as a low, discreet burble, nothing too loud or overpowering, just gives the usually quiet 20VT a nicely GTi tuned sound, under power it is again not overpowering, but certainly delivers a good roar under load, i guess this is mainly down to the middle pipe, which replaces the middlebox on the Leon.
I would certainly say, throttle is crisper, pickup is better, i'll see how it goes as the system cokes up, but so far im impressed with the quality of the system in build and looks. I would say there is probably more or better power now being produced than the exhaust i had on before, but we could see that the Oettinger had been blowing a bit from the way it had to be fitted.
Driving down the motorway was as comfortable as before, with no resonance or booming inside the cabin, whic i know can be annoying to some people, Supersprint i think have produced a good system for the Leon, and is another alternative to the other quality systems Miltek produces
More expensive than some systems, mainly due to the use of Stainless steel, though im not sure on the Milteks price, i would say its similar in cost, it retails for around £280-£300 without fitting.
