anyone out there done it???

I have a double DIN dash. i have to put the large metal cage back in, but i just cannot see how the single DIN HU cage clips or holds itself in place. Obviously i can/will put something in the other hole, even if it is just an empty tray for coins etc, but i cannot see how the cage lugs hold on to stop the radio from being pulled from the dash????

Specifically a LEON double din, but an ibiza etc is probably the same principle/design.

i have emailed Pete (iceman) but havent had a response yet.....

Any help would be great guys.
thanks

my Lupo had a double DIN slot hole in the dash and the single DIN HU wouldn't sit in the dash without the undertray. Once the undertray was in the cage sat n perfectly. Can't comment if the Leon dash aperture is much different. Sorry mate

Never got the mail mate :(

I used a couple of Leon trim plates cut down and glued to the front of the double din dash centre to give the cage something to rest on. Then I trimmed down a Golf pocket to fill the bottom section.

yeh, but my real problem is where the cage attaches - i know i will have to put something underneath/above in the spare DIN slot, but i put a cage in and it just seems loose in the horizontal axis - like the cage wont stop the stereo being nicked out of the dash...

make sense?
Do you need to bend the cage until it stays wedged in?

if they get that far a few clips/screws aint gonna stop em - trust me
