View Full Version : Re-mapping ECU
Hi People,
On the 8th of August I am taking my car to Jabba to get my ecu re-mapped. I am a little aprehensive.
Has anyone had this upgrade done?
Is it worth it?

not yet, am seriously thinking about it, let me know how you get on with it!!
What price did they quote?
Jabba have quoted me £335inc vat.
This is why I have asked the questions, cos they have said I will get around 200 bhp.
I thought this was a cheap upgrade considering a miltek exhaust gives you another 17 bhp and costs £457.
It will be great if it works and makes the car a lot quicker. Just in time for
ULTIMATE STREET CAR.

Just an Idea Newbos, but why not get the zorst done first then get jabbasport to remap the ECU. They do the re-map to suit your car so if the zorst is already in place they maybe able to release even more power!:D

Hi newbos , who says the Miltek gives 17 bhp cos i had mine fitted 2 weeks ago and havn't noticed any difference ( cat back 2.5" )
Mind you could be down to the warm weather at the moment , car feels well down on power ,
Still interested where you got the BHP figure from 'cos if right my car should be putting out Approx Amd 193 + Hurricane 8 +Milltek 17 = 218 BHP , At 'mo feels more like 155 bhp

less back presuure will make the turbo spin up quicker and you may even get 1-2psi more boost

Bolt on tuning does'nt work like a+b+c=huge bhp
17bhp from a Miltek sounds a high figure.
For the £400+ price tag though I presume its downpipe, sports cat and full system.
Who made this claim?
My 2.5" Miltek did certainly feel better than the previous 2" one on my own car, but 17bhp?
Bill
shame it does not work like that though

said many times before, but the big benefit is the mapping to suit your car - i.e. i went for slightly less maximum power to move the power band down slightly as i am a lazy git and can't be bothered to change gears.
i also wanted a progressive increase in boost rather than a massive hit which falls off rapidly.
Mike T did this brilliantly.
one thing to watch is that after the chipping we went out for a spin and the car was very hot so i was a little diapointed as it was way down on power. after stopping for a hour for foodage i set off and the difference was amazing.
he can do future remaps, i believe this is free within three months from what he said a while back - so the zorst could follow anyway.
anyone know about the chargecooler yet ?
turbo is water cooled more boost = more heat = more strain on cooling system = temp going up. I get the same even though I only have 3psi more
