At last my new ibiza cupra is on the way only a month to wait. . . I went to my local tunning shop to find out about a few extras for the cupra and they said they could supply and fit a bailey dump valve the woooshin type for 110 notes good bad? They said it would be a special one of fitment. any advice would be appreciated http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

The general consensous here is that the Ibiza Turbo does not respond well to whooshing type dump valves. You can lose power and the ECU in the car can go into limp mode and cause you a visit to the dealer.
Get a recirculating one. Forge motorsport make the one that was fitted to mine as are (all?) here, it cost half as much as this Bailey one you mention. RSD in Banbury can supply them, I had mine done at Amethyst SEAT here in Cheltenham but they are unusual within SEAT dealers as most probably wont.
Cheers

As I said in my previous posting regarding Blitz & Forge for my 2001 Ibiza Cupra, I decided to go with Forge DV-006.
Can anyone certify that this valve fits in the OEM part (Bosch) or do I need any other modifications? (SAMCO silicon collars etc?)
Some postings were mentioning that you need to reset the ECU after the replacement, or else the ECU starts flashing its leds like Christmas Tree. Does it have something to do with the ECU or the Air Flow Meter? (Forge says that you don't need to do anything with the DV-006 because it fits on the standard OEM). Is it true for Ibiza Cupra?
I saw the manual with the Audi TT 225 dump valve replacement, the Forge installation is really simple with no additional modification needed.
Any comments from owners of DV-006?
BTW: In what pressure does the KKK turbo of Ibiza Cupra works? 0.3 or 0.4bar or what?
Best regards

Forge dumper FITS STRAIGHT ON.....2 pipes going in/out...and a little one on the top!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESET ANYTHING.....It is simply a direct replacement unit...albeit a stronger one/will not break as it uses a piston and no diaphragm....and generally does its job that little bit better.
Std Cupra 20VT runs 7psi (0.5bar) all the way thru from 2000rpm.
Can chip it to close to 14psi and 1 bar with std turbo......anymore and you risk damage.
FOR THE OTHER CHAP IN NORFOLK......some have tried a whooshy bailey dumper...you lose 20bhp....makes engine run bad.....meeses up the ECU.....so up to you if you think the £100 is worth all that!!!
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING STEALTHY.....

Just a note to confirm this.
I actually contacted Bailey a little while back about a dump valve and they told me they didn't have an open venting valve that would work on the Ibiza, although they did have a recirculating valve that would fit.
I also contacted Forge and they recommended that they had one that was suitable.
I would go with the Forge (and might get one in the next week or so having thought about it a bit), as they are highly recommended and the valve that RSD use in their upgrades.

From what i gather from my experience with tt's, dump valves upset the air mass meter by dumping boost and causing sudden changes in the intake system. this tricks the ecu into thinking that there is a problem and such stops evrything for a split second. this will cause a nasty flat spot.

Well, i have a double piston Forge Dump Valve (which is not the closed loop DV-006) and the ECU works just fine and happy with it.
As far as I know SEAT SPORT has the same aftermarket Forge which now installs on their models and its not a closed loop any more. (You just pay the double price for having it saying SEAT SPORT instead of FORGE).
