Hi bill, can you get me a price on some rear spacers for my ibiza fr tdi. What size spacer would you advise? 10mm or 15mm bearin mind that i still have the standard Fr wheels and am not planning on changing them just yet.
They'll be a 5 x 100 size i think.
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers Daniel

I think 10mm should be fine, but don't forget you need longer bolts and locking wheel nuts. :)

15mm i suspect and be hubcentric on rears. M14 bolts on your Mk4 so slightly dearer bolts..

HAHA, well would they deffo work on a FR TDi with standard wheels?

And as I havnt got a clue how much this sort of thing costs, I cant tbh! Maybe Spaniels can give ya a offer :p

then i'll add 1p :p hehe jokin of course...

Whats this hubcentric thing mean ne way? and these spacers for the front... er they basically the same as the bk just 10mm!?

hubcentric is with spigot machined into spacer, as opposed plain spacer which is a flat disk.

so whats the conclusion on this? 15mm hubcentric with longer bolts for the rear? got a price Bill?

Does the front need doing or is it not worth it? if so what size?

All for Ibiza FR TDI (PD130)

Not worth doing fronts IMHO... rears are done to square the front rear track up... which helps stability and handling feel from less nervous rear... and as a by product looks better.

For a Mk4 with the larger (M14x1.5) and more bolts its £84.95 plus carriage for 15mm hubcentrics

cheap mod for the gains in nicer handling IMHO.

Bill - U mentioned the front, saying it doesnt really needed spacers to make handling any better. It wouldnt make it any worst? how much would just the 10mm spacers (got the bolts) be for the front? assuming it doesnt make the car handle like poo (which I wouldnt imagine it does, but will look a little better!)

Thanks,

[Idiot question time]

Im guessing i would need to buy a set of longer locking wheel nuts too or are the stock ones longer anyway?

Thanks,

I don thave an option on 10mm hubcentric ones... Eibach dont do them (but H&R do)

You might find the car likes uneven road surfaces less when pushing the front wheels outward... same effect as lower ET wheel
