View Full Version : Radar Detectors
Gonna probably open a huge can of worms here but here goes:
Coming up to the magic 1000mile mark on my Beeza Cupra and lets say I'm beginning to 'explore' the rev range a bit more. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif
Whats the general opinion on the best detectors out there?.
I've read the Morpheous Geodesy review and £380 is a bit f*?ckin steep. What about Snoopers?
Bearing in mind I do hardly any motorway miles, strictly B roads and country lanes I dont really need a flashy high spec gizmo just something reliable.
I hardly rant my car down every road I drive down (surprising for an Essex boy I know) its more of a case of needing one to give me a gentle reminder to check my speed in (especially) 30-40mph zones. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
How the hell you 210 guys keep you speed down I'll never know!

I've tried Snooper. IMO they are shite. Too mnay false alarms, they seem to go off all the time.
Your best bet is the Bell 550, lots of money, but how much is your licence worth?????

Hey,
Owning a 210 modle I STRONGLY suggest a redar detector...I went for the Bell 550 - very expensive but I tell you - nothing gets past this one! I reckon (especially through roadworks on the M2) that this has saved me several points!

Heh Loafer,
whereabouts in Colchester are you? I'm up in Stanway, good to see another Essex bloke here.
Just about to take delivery of my imported Leon and was wondering if you have any experience of Miller & Middleton as they are our local Seat dealership.
Cheers
Al

Big al,
I'm in Brightlingsea, as for Miller & Middletons I've had no problems. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
Sometimes need a gentle kick up the arse to get things moving but very friendly and accomodating when it comes to servicing/lending you a car etc.
No problems with sales either, this is my second car from them after getting a 2nd hand Cupra Sport in Feb 2000.
Not sure about their attitude to imports tho.
Got a mate who lives up Stanway (Dale Close), keep an eye out for Yellow Beeza EX51 YLS. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

Just wish it was legal to use in the UK and that they extended the ticket refund offer over here!
