I hope on not repeating this question that’s probably been asked a million times before,
But I recently bought an H&R lowering kit for my Mk2 Ibiza and if I’m going to replace the suspension then I thought I may as well get hold of some uprated suspension bushes.
But when I contacted a company about purchasing some they told me that they don’t make sets for the Mk2 biza and for that mater any SEAT.

Would the set for the Polo mk3 be the same
or is there a another company apart from Powerflex that make uprated bushes for SEAT's ?
Thanks for your help.

Ah, this is one of those things i've been meaning to look into a bit further for ages. I was checking out a bunch of poly bush manufacturers to get a good price on a set for my mk1 Golf (worked out just under £70 incl VAT in the end for a BugPack set from GS&F in the end). Whilst on the phone, I figured i'd ask about bushes for my mk2 Ibiza - cue blank looks and embarassed silences all round. No-one seems to list any Seat specific applications. I've spoken to Powerflex, Superflex and a couple of others about it and no joy. I think basically it will require some enterprising soul to cross reference part numbers from a Seat ETKA and a VW ETKA. And if anyone does figure out which ones we need, could you post it up here please? :D

Hahaha.
Guess what I fitted on Saturday to me 20VT Ibiza.

Poly Race bushes.

HOWEVER...........

You need bushes to suit a MK3 GOLF, NOT MK2. Mk3 subframe, MK2 wishbones.
Subframe is different as MK3 one has small lugs in rear bush position to locate bush. MK2 had an insert spring roll pin type arrangement. Large Full size MK2 bush will not fit into MK3 subframe without modification as the lugs jutt out both top and bottom, preventing the poly bush fitting.

Some people list fitments for MK2/3 and this is wrong, certainly in the case of Rally Design whome I bought mine from. (Polyroad and PolyRace versions available)

Vibratechnics make bushes also which are model specific, so these are more likely to actually fit.

It was a shite job to do... Nasty.... Awkward.... and this was using a ramp with Alan of Autotechnik doing the bizz. It was a struggle and the rear bushes had to be modded.

Bill - don't suppose you fancy doing a bit of investigative work to find out how different any of the bushes are between mk2 Ibiza and mk3 Ibiza?

Well.
You might be in luck as I have a Mk2 Ibiza Cupra 16v subframe in front of my garage at the moment, complete with wishbones, ARB etc etc etc.
I would just need to wip out the front wishbone bolt and have a look at the rear mounting to see. If flat, then MK2 Golf fitment, if not, then its MK3.

You in a hurry?
I need to get a few min spare to do this.

No tearing hurry from me on this one Bill - as you know, my Ibiza has been consigned to "sensible road car" duties so development has been shelved. If you could check it out it'd be much appreciated though.
