My 98 ibiza 16v seem very prone to door dents from dozy b'stards in car parks etc. Can anyone recommend any of these dent removal companies such as Dentmasters?

As a precautionary measure I now take up 2 spaces........it pisses people off but hard luck!

Tell me about it, my 5 month old Cupras passanger door is covered in small dents where the fcukers at work open their doors without givin a toss.

They have company cars so why should they care, Ive got 3 years to pay for mine. *******s, the lot of them!

That's right! It is a known problem! I have owned a Cordoba from 1994 and all 4 doors were covered with parking dents and chipped paint due to the door's unconventional upper curve. I guess it's a flow in the car's design! New water based paints are very easy to chip and the metal is too soft and easy to dent. All we can do is park as far away as possible from other maniacs!!!

My girlfriend opened the passenger door the other night, and the wind caught it, and it hit one of those metal rubbish bins they have in my town centre. the two 'ribs' on the bin made two quite noticeable dents.

I've only had my '97 ibiza since october! Poor girl, she started crying, because she knows how much I love my car, and she thought I'd be furious and hate her!

Oh well, it's sod's law that as soon as you're happy with something, generally, something comes along and pisses you off by cocking something up!

Shit. God damn it. Bugger.

...And I still don't feel any better!

Matt.

Just for info ~ the scoobynet community are always babbling on about "dentmasters" who have sites accross UK. Scoobies (particularly previous model) have very thin panels....

Never used them myself, but they are apparently excellent and charge per panel. Some of the guys wait 'til they have a few dings in each before they call them (!).

Allegedly some major dealerships (Merc/BMW etc) use them 'cos they are highly skilled and so much cheaper than employing your own panel beater.

Worth a look..........

The ibizas doors are really bloody easily dented, infact I am now obsessed about where and how I park my car. I always look at my doors to see if they have any fresh dents when I in them and if the car beside me at the time made them... i swear that ill kick the wingmirrors off the next unthoughtfull parkers car! See how they like something shit happening to them. I only had my car a week when I aquired my first dent, i was raging.

Happy wing mirror removal!

Hmmmmm.. How hard is it to do bonnets?

A couple of months ago I was hit by a half house brick that a little tw*t dropped off a motorway bridge (scared the living sh*t out of me).... and it bounced off the bonnet up onto the screen and over the car..

At first I just thought it had chipped the screen and scratched a nice pretty pattern into the glass near the top of the screen.. but a couple of weeks later a mate pointed out there was a small (penny sized) dimple in my bonnet.. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It isn't exactly noticable, but I am a little concerned about re-sale value.. would that sort of thing be noticed and mean cash knocked off..?? There is no chipping of the paintwork it seems so hopefully it won't flake or rust.. but I will keep an eye on it..

If I see a Dentmasters around here I might pop in and have a word.. as I don't want to go to 'Chipaway' (a local company) as I have heard of LOADS of bad stories about em..

Haven't got any knocks on my door panels yet tho *touches some wood*..

little *******s could have killed you scoobz!

Im surprised that is all of the damage considering the object and the force it would have.
