have got shiny metal on inner wings after wheels have rubbed when on full lock some one said to me today why didnt i put those bumpstops on that restrict your turning circle therefore stopping the shiny metal probs have got to say had never heard of this any one out there heard of it tried it also can you get larger bump stops for your suspension cos at the mo my wheels can rub on the rear bumper/inner liner just at the top where the bumper and liner meet any suggestions would be good thanks again quinch:cheers:

Re: full lock - the problem is the steering rack allowing too much travel for the width/offset of your wheels or drop of your suspension. Ford fitted a limited travel rack in mk1 XR2's to get around a problem like this, which amounted to dropping a couple of bolts through the steering box to work as end stops. I don't know whether it is possible to limit the rack travel on a Seat in this way.

As for rubbing at the back, you could fit longer bumpstops but it will make the car handle like a sack of sh1te. The bumpstops are effectively a very hard spring to stop you completely using full travel of the coil spring. By fitting longer bumpstops the car will tend to hit them more frequently (riding the bumpstops) and the ride will be very bouncy indeed. The solution to the problem is to either raise the ride height (if it's an adjustable kit) or fit stiffer coil springs.
