i have bridged my wiring from the 'untouchable' new flush stereo in my cordoba and positioned a pioneer single cd unit directly under my steering wheel. if you look under your steering column they all have an open slot and a small rectangular storage shelf. a standard head unit will slide through the slot and the wiring is simple to bridge from the original unit so you can still run all your aircon etc. unscathed. from that you can change all your speakers and add amps and subs etc from your new headunit. the other advantage for the positioning is you cant see it when your cars parked and if you do take your facia off the little shelf next to your newly installed head unit is the perfect size to store it!!!

sounds tricky but it was actually a piece of p1ss!! took me a full day to install head unit, new door speakers and tweeters and mounted 6x9's in boot with 2 12"pioneer subs driven from 2 pioneer amps. wicked install!!

if anybody wants a bit more info, give me a shout and i'll sort it!!

later all

scott

p.s. definately advise a head unit with remote control for all those tune hopping boy racers, we don't want any accidents do we!!!!

sounds good mate. local ICE installers to me (SQ+) have fitted a few HU's in that tray under S/Wheel. I'll be giving them mine to do when funds allow. Nice place to have it hid away from theiving scum eyes too.
