View Full Version : New Radio Fascia???
Guys,
I've got a cunning plan of how to fit my Alpine deck into my 20vt Beeza. I dont want to start abusing my current fascia in case it all goes horribly wrong. Any ideas where i can get a new one to modify? And how much they normally sell for? I only need the fascia, the actual hifi unit will remain intact!
Speak with Saul, He is the man as far as ICE is concerned. He is also working on a fascia, some pics were posted on the main site recently in 50% (?) complete state and it looks wicked.
I seen Saul's panel in the flesh and it looks good. It should be very smart once finalised.
Help me convince him to mass produce it then! I want one too! He could sell it through Badger 5 with Bill's help? Sounds like a plan to me!
Might be a good idea, depends how cheap you can get facias for to convert.
Saul managed to pick his up from a breakers for 15 quid @ GTI Inters, bargain imo!
*edit*
The whole sterio was 15 squid, not just the facia ;)
*puts on best Mancunian Accent*
Cmon Manc Lad have a chat with Bill get it sorted out! Top one, sorted!

hes sorted that with touchscreen :D , easy when you have 500 silver milk bottle tops and the mancunian "ave a go madferrrrrret" attitude!!!
Well he could have kept his old facia and could slot that back on if he needed to change its only one ribbon cable to connect it.

Still got my old fascia and "the box" that goes behind with all the elctrics in.
Its not an easy job, the circuits on the back of the fasci for the screen are a funny shape with bits jutting out that foul unless removed.
Wiring is a problem as you have to separate 3 boards (main/screen/tapedeck) and run ribbon power cable to each.
Its done now anyway, just gotta either paint it (its in a black at the mo) but you cannot match the paint of the dash, so im thinking:
a) Carbon Fibre lookalike sheet
b) Alcantara
c) Leather/Leatherette to match the doorcards.
Any ideas lads????
Once it is finished i will have an idea on how much, is not goin to be cheap i can tell you that now, a lot of work is involved cutting/wiring/bonding/filling etc etc
If you are interested, drop me a line, or i will post when all is finalised.
Gloss black to match the outside paint. SEAT do trims in body colour anyway so may look a bit like that.
Once you work out the price please tell as I would be interested because I never new it would be so hard to fit an amp to an Ibiza and now I cant get rid of the buzzying sound coming out a speaker(right front). So if I could fit an head unit it would be easy. Nice job by the way.
