jiege01
03-03-2006, 00:58
60mm mate

stuart_hatch
03-03-2006, 01:00
what suspension is it lowered on, also do you have any better pics of the rear bumper?

jiege01
03-03-2006, 01:03
its on lowering springs with standard shocks till i get money saved for coilovers.

http://www.jgoddard76.fsnet.co.uk/tol12.jpg
its lower at the back than this pic suggests as the springs were only in that day

stuart_hatch
03-03-2006, 01:52
what size are the wheels and do you get any scrubbage problems? also dont suppose you know where that rear bumper came from

jiege01
03-03-2006, 11:46
the skirts rear and front are all the one kit, i dont know who makes it tho sorry, was on it when i bought the car. They are 17's and no scrubbing at all, even with our bumpy country roads over here. should be able to get 19's on it with very little scrubbing.
heres the springs i used and to be honest the ride isnt that much different from standard.
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?id=475
although they are 55mm, they drop a bit more on the toledos as they are golf springs, thats the cheapest site ive found them on

11-03-2006, 20:12
hi mate, i,ve got a standard 1.9tdi
16" standard alloys. I was going to drop it by 40mm but keep the standard shocks for the time being.
Wot differences can i expect to the quality of the ride??
that is comfort,:D road holding etc etc
cheers,
gary

jiege01
11-03-2006, 20:14
to be honest the quality of the ride isnt much different from standard. however the looks and handling are greatly improved over standard. sticks to the road:) .

Is that the centre's that came with the wheels?

I've a set of Audi TT 6 spoke and I need some SEAT centres to replace the Audi ones so any idea where these came from ?

Also, with a 60mm drop you'll need to watch your sump as these things are low to start with

grq
19-03-2006, 21:40
Car looks well, you should bring it to out monthly meets at Corrs Corner :)

19-03-2006, 22:46
hi mate, saw your car ,,looks great,
ive just bought 40mm lowered springs and a set of 17's, not on the car yet, buying tyres next week. What size do you recommend( i was thinking 215/45's or maybe 225/45', don't want to lose too much comfort.

I also had a quick look at the back springs on the car, and i was just thinking they would look the same (diameter wise) but the lowered ones look a little narrower.... i have checked part numbers etc (ok). did you notice this when you changed yours?????:D

jiege01
19-03-2006, 22:57
runs well with 215's lad. yup the springs i got were thinner, as long as they are put in correctly then there should be no problem.

garyc@onetel.ne
19-03-2006, 23:38
thanks for that, did you notice if the actual coil was a little narrower also,,,(although not a huge amount, i don,t think??)

jiege01
19-03-2006, 23:40
yeah they were narrower,

garyc@onetel.ne
20-03-2006, 00:06
cheers mate, i had visions of a strip down to discover the wrong springs or summiit.
if my toledo looks anything like yours afterwards, i'll be really chuffed,
thanks for the advice

emm if your getting tyres 225/45/17s would be the ones to get i think, they're the standard size on the 17's on the leon cupra....

Nice - I think the brows look fine on a black car but I would have gone for centre chrome grill only - even more so because of the brows which I think look best next to a black grill. Well done on your efforts though.

fk highsports with fk adjustable droplinks, might need to change the anti roll bar soon, had to screw the front up a bit as it was rubbing the driveshaft.

Any info on those wheels would be useful - Ever thought about putting a cupra MY04 spec front bumper on?? Prc - Paulo has done this...

jiege01
25-01-2007, 19:00
nah like the bumper as it is, moulded splitter and colour coded. the wheels are just audi rs6 replicas, they can be got cheaply. 18's were £450 thats rims and new tyres. 19's are around £650.
