i used to use tim brookshaws in shrewsbury but they went bump and now sell smart shopping trollies.so i'm on the look out for a new friend.jone's @abermule aren't too bad if your stuck ,but it's not the most modern place and stuff like bodystyling etc is probly a no no. i've been told to steer clear of wolverampton (i'll have to drive past molineux any way)as they are a bit slap dash so does any one know about droitwich ? if not it's a trip of about 2 hrs to cheltenam .do you boys @cheltenam do saturdays as this is the only time the car is available for me to bring it down, on the up side ludlow to gloucester then to cheltenam is a blast of a road.

Took my Leon TDi SE to Droitwich garage on friday for it's 12 month inspection and also for a whole bunch of warranty work (rattle hunting etc). When I booked it in I was told that they wouldn't be able to do any warranty work because I hadn't raised the issues at it's first 6 month oil change service. I obviously queried this and got a bit stroppy with the result that the car was booked in with a courtesy car and also that the dealer would enable the anit-hijack setting on my car for free. Excellent I thought.

So I went to pick my car up on Friday and they'd done all the rattle hunting (touch wood appears to be sorted :) ) and they'd enabled the autolocking feature. Unfortunately they forgot to do the service which was the whole reason I took the car in! How do you forget to do a service!!! I'm not too upset, although it is annoying, because they did fix my rattles (I think) and they did offer to pick the car up and deliver it back to me. I drive past the garage every day anyway so it's no trouble for me to drop the car off, so this wasn't much use. At least I get to play in a different courtesty car again next week. The only really annoying thing is that I didn't get it in writing when I booked the car in that they'd do the anti-hijack for free, and I couldn't prove that they'd said that. They charged me £30 for it, which seems a bit steep, but nevermind.

To sum up I'd give Droitwich Garage 6/10, not bad but could be better. It's all a bit academic now anyway, because I've got my heart set on a new MR2 - just can't decide on the colour! I hope that Toyota blue is better than Imperial blue. I'm not sure I could cope with another car that scratches if you even look at it funny...
