Is the K&N 57i induction kit any good? And also is it worth getting a forge dump valve and if so which one? My motor is 11 months old

Do a search my friend all ur questions will be answered , k&n tend to be too oily therefor they can cause problems with ur maff sensor .........;) ;)

Hi the DV 007P is a good first mod
http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMCL007P

10 % discount as a SEAT cupra net member

The induction kit is a good option there are some good alternatives to the K & N
I would have a look around the forum

I would recommend the 007P, its the most popular valve we sell for all 1.8T applications , it will locate in the same position as your oem valve and is easy to fit , heres a link to the instructions

The example is on Audi TT but the theory is the same

Most dealers will realise the problem with the OEM Bosch valve and are happy to see it replaced as it one less job that they do not have to carry out them selves , If you purchase the black 007P valve its a little less visable.

You can order on line and add into the comments box " 10% discount SEAT cupra net member applied for " and we will do the rest . carriage is £ 8.00

Please let me know if this is ok

On the topic of the DV, how much are the servicing kits?

Thanks

Dale

I would recommend that you carry out the leak back test , just to see if all is ok first

we would normally inspect every 12000 , miles or so
Simply push the bottom piston up to the top of the valve either using your finger or a pen , whilst doing this cover the top small vacuum nipple .
Leaving your finger covering the vac nipple , remove the pen , the piston will slip back approx 3 - 5 mm this is normal , it should then stay held at the top by the vacuum ,remove the pen and the piston should return , carry this out a couple of time if the is no gradual leak all is fine , just pop the valve back on the car
If however the piston creeps back down we need to send you the service kit .
These are free
I hope that all the above makes sense

Best Regards
