View Full Version : Amethyst Seat - Cheltenham
I thought I'd get in here quick and be the first to mention them! ;)
I've had good, efficient service from Amethyst from the minute I went in looking to buy my Beezer 20VT.
With most garages they're great when you're buying but don't really care after that, not here I've found.
In particular Darren James who is the parts manager (and posts here as flapper) has been brilliant from day one. He's helped out on all sorts of techie questions even when he's been busy and even spent time installing my CD changer when he had five minutes as a favour, also he's never been too busy to sort out prices/part numbers etc at a moments notice when I've called in.
Also Graham Swinburn who is the Aftersales Manager has been a great help. I've needed a courtesy car twice now, once for a new rear bumper and once when my Forge valve and Momo strut brace were fitted and the car was being valeted. I only needed to give a couple of days notice both times. Not only that but he said that it wasn't necessary to top the fuel back up as long as there was enough for me!
The work was carried out on time both times. The bumper looks like new, it was ordered and fitted within 5 days, it matches just as well as the original. The valet was great, the car looked brand new without a mark on it. As for the valve and brace, they were fitted with no problems.
Also as mentioned above, Amethyst are modification friendly, they're running their own 210 bhp Ibiza as a demo so they know what they're talking about. Also I believe Graham has been dealing with Seats for 15 or so years (correct me if I'm wrong here Graham) and he has a good relationship with RSD so mods can be ordered from them and fitted in house.
All in all, good value, friendly and efficient service. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone.
Cheers
Andy

I have to say that during my four months of owning my beezer cupra, despite a few minor problems, Amethyst Seat and the lads at Cheltenham have been top class .
Special mention should go to Peter for the Demos and the deal, Neil for his advice in the ‘Neil you've the dogs wotsits ibiza, what’s it like..?’ "eer have a go…..bugger I want one of those" department and Graham for his pleasingly helpful ‘never too much trouble’ problem solving service.
If your reading this ‘Swinny’ thanks for your kind service , especially to a fussy git like me.
I would like to mention just as a warning note to others that I did try a couple of other manufacturers and one other Seat dealer before I handed over my dosh, just to be sure I’d chosen well. Bristol street Ford, Tewkesbury Road (the economical Family car route!) was one of them and suffice to say that all they got out of me was an angry letter of complaint to their head office- never even had a test drive! . The other was Renault (The Cupra’s only rival Clio Sport 172). The dealer was O.K. but cold and heartless, no unaccompanied test drive, rock bottom trade-in on my old car and basically apart from it going reasonably fast, its well…..crap really, especially the interior – looked like it would rub off in your hands. I also tried a brief chat with Seat of Derby while I was up there but they just weren’t the same as the Cheltenham boys and besides, a bit far really considering.
Definitely glad I went to Seat – BETTER CAR, BETTER PEOPLE.
Keep up the good work chaps.
p.s. Neil, the badge is good !!!

here here.
Another happy customer here too!
Fair dincum. Alls going well for me. Some minor niggles being sorted without fuss or question. I wish all Dealers were in the same league. My friend with his Polo Gti is having throttle problems and has to keep returning to get it looked at time after time after time. Its wearing a bit thin. After seeing my new beezer he's warming to Seats.
Keep up the great work guys :) It Is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
regards
Bill

Thought my first post had entered the abyss, but after reading some old topics I found that 'Ctrl/Shift Refresh' seemed to do the trick.
Sorry about the strange icon positioning on said post - wasn't really sure what I was doing  - pressed too many buttons I think!
Cheers,
Scott
Scott,
What car do you have? Wouldn't be a Ovni Yellow Y plate Beeza 20VT would it?...and if it was, did you drive past the Wetherspoons pub in Cheltenham at 13:50 today? I was sat outside having a nice cool Stella.
Cheers

Andy,
Sorry about the delay, been away for a while.
Not yellow i'm afraid. It's a Red 20VT.
What do you drive?
Cheers,
Scott

Ah, Graham didn't mention it the other day that yours was red. Makes sense really looking at your nickname!
I've got a Silver Beeza 20vt.
