Hello, Im wondering if this is the correct place to ask about the sort of increases that have been made to peoples policies due to fitting a Forge FMIC?
Any help would be appreciated.

It could also be a radiator.. It just cools air instead of water though... ;)

Hmmm ok, but this would invalidate my insurance non?
Its not like an air filter that I could just rip off and throw in a bush in the event of a crash :|

 A lot of it depends on your insurance company tbh.

yeah spose the best way to find out is to ask. As far as im concerned it could be to improve temperature and longevity of the car, nothing to do with performance.
if you do ask your insurance post up with what they say as i am thinking about getting one

will do.
tbh im still thinking of the route I want to go with my ibiza.
Ive come from a 3cyl corsa so im still more than happy with the 130bhp it came with, Its either a case of some nice BBS RX rims sprayed black with a polished rim and lowered 30mm, or a FMIC, Filter and exhaust system. Also wouldnt mind adding to the already pretty impressive ICE with perhaps a screen and a dvd player.
So many options. With any luck it will all get done eventually, just need to sort my priorities.

you could always go the stealth route and have a black fmic and black piping, who'd know then.

if it got smashed even if it was declared, id be surprised if they replaced it.

nah its not that, not declaring something can void your ENTIRE policy, you might aswell drive uninsured

Wasnt it there when you got the car? That way as far as your aware its standard equipment!

have you mentioned to your insurance company about everything youve done and intend to do in post 10?
changing fuel, tyres, running slightly different tyre pressures are all changes from manufacturer spec.
I colour coded my old ibiza grill etc and after an accident which wasnt my fault, the insurance people ok'd all the work inc colour coding it again even though it wasnt declared. if the single part can be found to be the sole cause or major player in causing an accident then it would be an issue....otherwise.
id guess half the people or more on here havent declared their remap.

while what you said is true, id rather just cough up and be safe - NO WAY would a go without declaring a remap however saying that - non of my ICE is declared, so perhaps i am contradicting myself.
Its a moral thing tbh, im just a fanneh :bleh:

if your car was broken into tomorrow and your ice was stolen, would you claim for any of it? even the window using your glass excess knowing that it was the undeclared stuff that caused the break in?
people use common sense when declaring or not as the case may be, the dogbone mount swap on the leon is one example, it does nothing for performance 0-60's etc but stops the front wheels bouncing when accelerating, do you declare this either, even though its totally invisible and wouldnt ever be discovered?

true I would not claim for my ICE, however i believe something like an intercooler is a little more obvious than a dogbone mount. Perhaps if I got an uprated SMIC it may be different.
Ill see what the insurance company says, then make up my mind from there.
Cheers for all the opinions on this matter, ill let you know what they say.
