Fitted my H&R Cup Kit last night to my 20VT, thanks to kev and rob for help.

Had it set-up at awesome gti (supplied the kit too thanks lads)

Visually car sits low, and i mean low.

Driving, amazing, transformed the car, no more pitch and roll, and no dive under braking, serious amount of gain to be had, not properly tested it yet, do a run tonight and curby tomorrow.
Car is firmer, id say 10% more than std, it just feels a lot more sat and not as floaty.

Im running 17"s and there is some rub, but nothing major (prob wear out with use on plastic liner)

Review to follow and a brief how to, piccies hopefully up tonight.

Seriously consider this kit for your 20VT when suspending your car, IMO GFM for a kit under £400.

Car could still do with a thicker anti-roll bar, but this is a vast improvement over stock.

Saul reccommends H&R and again Awesome GTI for top help and service.

only 10-15% more firmer ride????? Thats not alot of comfort loss considering my old motor felt every matchstick after 40ml drop. That was my one concern that ride comfort would be out the window!

I got the spec. that HR's Cup kit would lower the car 60mm in the front and 40mm in the rear???

For about 360£ (Calc. 5250sek/14,6£) ...

Saul
09-08-2002, 09:29
Johnnie, for the Ibiza (00-) its listed as a 50/40 drop, and it is 50/40!!!

Its low, but i was suprised at how good the ride quality is, expected mega firm, which it isnt.

Im running 17"s which rub occasionally over bumps, arch liner will be modded when i get chance.

16"s yesterday @ curby where fine.

Review to follow soon.

Well I got Cordoba Cupra that you guys never heard of =)
Even, it's the same car as the Ibiza exept for the rear...

I'm also running 17" OZ Superleggera.
I think I'll go for the adjustable, but since the HR's cheap I don't know...

Have you checked where it makes that "rubs" ??

Howcome he said 60/40... hmm ....

Saul

Is the ride harder than standard, teeth jaring or not as bangy but smooth.

Did it actually drop 50/40 not the assume 35/25ish then. Which arches rub, front/back?

Johnnie

I got some new prices and info:
50/40mm and for 600sek more (41£).

Even, Saul have you tested it any further?? =)
Since I think I'll buy one too I'd like to get some more info especially how much it rubs on the plastic...

I read in a another thread that this kit can also be supplied with a flat drop, does that mean that I could get it with a 50mm drop all round?

If so how much extra would this cost?

Cheers....

I asked about a 40mm drop and it was about £40 extra to exchange springs. Speaking with Saul the 50/40 combination leaves the car level and v.low.

That was a quick reply Wayne.

Although the car probably looks really low with the 50 / 40 split, I would still really like a 50mm drop all round....

I just love the really really low look. Im looking at this as being the cheaper alternative. Originally I had planned to get a Koni coilover kit to allow the car to be dropped 60 - 70 mm all round. If I can get a 50mm drop all round that might just satisfy me.....

Johnnie

Is it possible to lower the car about 60-70mm around without doing mods.??? ?

There's pics of Sauls on the main site to give you a idea how low it is.

Johnnie
09-08-2002, 14:23
But isnt that "only" 50mm in the front and 40mm in the rear.. , right?

Thats the same kit Im gonna buy... HR Cup kit

09-08-2002, 14:27
Yes but it appears to be that measurement off the Cupras ride height. Most give the drop off standard ride height.

Johnnie
09-08-2002, 14:30
Ah!
That's what you mean...

My car will have the same setup as Saul, bought here in Sweden

Saul
09-08-2002, 14:37
Ok, the drop is a 50/40 split. 50mm front, 40mm rear as its listed.

You could get 30mm H&R springs if you are willing to pay extra.

As for a 50mm even drop, i dont think its do-able, unless H&R sell 50mm springs.

I got it off www.awesomegti.com price is £325+VAT (less discount for cupra.net members)

As for Koni coil-overs, i was going to get these, but delivery was 6-7 weeks.

Happy so far with mine.

Johnnie

How much is the Cupra lowered standard??
Because that's from where we count, right??

About 15mm, possibly 20mm is usual with sports models.

Shock_Xe

Johnnie

Saul, can you give me a review of how much it rubs and how often? =)
I'll get my kit in about 2 weeks.

saul, earlier you talked about getting your arches lined, what you going to get them lined with and does it save your tires.

P.S. i just got the H & R kit fitted, check out the pics on the ibiza forum.
