Group Buy......Milltek Highflow CAT and downpipe Ibiza III

I'm trying to organise a group buy on Milltek highflow cats and downpipes for the MKIII Ibiza cupra 1.8T. There seems a fair bit of interest in this one. Ideally need 10 names at least (3 possibles already...i think:confused: )

Normal retail on these is £390+the dreaded

GB price.....£295+VAT

Any takers??

What sort of benefits woeld i expect from the dp and cat? Of course when fitted to a cat back system?

It'll free up more power mate, the dp and cat are the most restrictive parts of the exhaust, so once the flow is corrected by fitting the Milltek DP and cat (100 or 200 cell unknown yet) it'll allow the exhaust gases to flow more readily!
Meaning more power!

Question while im here, which im sure is easy. It does come with the necessary fitments for the lambda sensors?

Hope it works ok with the RSD210 / Oettinger chip, i dont want no damn engine managment lights.

Forbez... Yeah it will use the same Lambda placements as you have standard. That many people have them, i have never heard any probs from them :)

Yeah Phil it will be the end of the month before we will put the orders through. I spoke to Milltek a second ago. They have 3 in stock at the moment and a few more on the production line. They said the longest we'd have to wait from the end of the group buy would be mid march.

Sorry mate, no chance of that, you seen how fiddly they are!!! We can do the fitting of the downpipe at 1 hours labour instead of the normal 2 hours (there is the price of a gasket as well, but that is only like £8ish).

Just to clarify with some people you will need to have a cat back exhaust to make the most of this....just incase anyone was unsure :)

Well with the group buy it would be £295+VAT for the downpipe and we are doing the catback for £262+VAT (total of 2 hours labour fitting in conjunction with this GB)

Possibly. Am tempted at such a good price but new job in the offing and priorty parts like the rest of system need replacing (original and a bit rotten now).My not so flexible friend might have to take a good beating for the course.

Andy....If your going IHI then it wouldnt fit onto the turbo....will need to speak to Milltek to see if they rate the cat up to a certain BHP or not.

Jambo.... If the supersprint goes straight onto your standard cat then the fittings should be the same. The only thing is the diametre difference between the downpipe and your exhaust. The DP is 2.5'' i think :confused: (yet another thing i need to check with Milltek :( )

Supersprint dont do a 3" mate, so it would fit coz you have the 2.5"

yep i know mate you have to chop off the downpipe and fit the jabba one before the cat which is ok, just means can have it fitted before go ihi

i take it the dp will be ok with a ko3 and ko3s? what differance does it make to the exhaust noise? don't want it too loud,if it isn't then might be interested. i have only got a small powerflow backbox on my exhaust system.

It'll be fine with the K03/K03S, it'll make the exhaust a tiny bit louder due to the slightly larger bore and less restrictive cat but I doubt you'd even notice.

How physically big is it?
I know I have seen cats said to be ok by supplier (exhaust company for example) and the manufacturer of the cat itself have said a completely different number.. Exhaust company said for example 300bhp fine no problem, where cat manufacturer said 250bhp.

I ask the physical size as when the metal matrix pleats inside (100 cell or 200 cell) are wound, they obviously restrict flow to an extent... package a tight wound 100 cell cat into a small outside diameter, and "flow" is going to be compromised. For flows on K0x turbo's, probably not enough flow for this to be apparent. On BT like IHI when it gets into its stride and high rpms.... its a different story.

So... I cant answer your question m8, cos I dont know the physical size.

Phil, it's the turbo that's the bottleneck on the K03/S so I doubt you'll be restricted with a Milltek DP.

My CAT back milltek is knocking like hell, doing my head right in going to get some upgraded rubber hangers and hopefully when i get the downpipe and CAT that should sort it........ Have not had it up on a lift since it was fitted, so only way i could adjust it was on trolly jacks.

If that dont work, im going to take it in to work and weld the engine and exhaust straight onto body and make sure i don't leave till the exhaust, body and engine are one. :censored:

my mate dale had a 3" turbo back system on the ibiza cupra ko3s he bought from a guy on here. When he took it to star performance they said the 3" downpipe was loosing him around 30bhp as it too big for ko3 application. he now has a milltek turbo back exhaust.

they said the 3" was to big and wasnt creating enough back pressure.

Postage to mainland UK would be £10 with a courier, so total would be £358.38 all in.

Its a 2 1/2 inch downpipe, and according to one of the engineers at Milltek it would be good up to 350bhp.

Right guys i have some good and bad news.

I spoke to Milltek a few weeks ago and ask them to make sure that they were making enough systems to cover up to 14 cats. After speaking to them today it appears that only 10 were put into production and only 9 of them coming to us :( They are putting the others into production to be done in another three weeks from now. The faint glimmer of good news though is that the 9 allocated to us should be ready and with us next week.

I'm completely gutted about this. So i am now faced with the problem of only 9 out of the 13 orders i have having a cat available next week. The only real way i can sort this is to allow the first 9 orders i had come through to have them. That would mean the following people hopefully receiving theirs next week...
(in the order i received the orders...Sorry for using your full names... hopefully doesnt cause a problem.)
