Bit of a mixed bag these ones, i have bought my last two cars from them, firstly a '96 ibiza 1.4, the servicing was good, if i wanted parts, ie lowering springs, spoilers etc, they were brilliant, prices were reasonable too.
I bought my second Seat there in february, a black 1y/o Cordoba 20. 16v SX, there were a few minor niggles with the car, tiny door dents and stuff, on the day i picked up my shiney cordoba, dents were gone but my manuals, service books and spare key were all missing, in the following 10 months since, i have recieved replacement books, but still havnt got my spare key!!
For the past few months Ive been visiting monthly to see if there is any progress on the bits, also my gearbox and ABS has been giving me a bit of a headache when accelerating and trying to change up at anything over 3500rpm, second regularly refuses and third makes a loud notchy noise , so i booked it in today and insisted that ryan, one of the nice engineer blokes take a ride with me so i could demonstrate!! although there was no sign of the creaky dashboard (sods law) the gear changes crunched a bit as usual although i had to rev a bit more to get the same noises?? he reckns the synchro is a bit buggered on second and third and said these parts would be replaced under warranty!! YAY i thought, just in time for wigan!! but when i went in to the service and parts dept, john the servicing bloke said that my warranty was void http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/sick.gif
so after him telling me that because the car had 13k on it in feb and now has 28k in october apparently I missed my 23k service!! i told him that a mechanic mate of mine had done the oil and filter etc he disappeared off for 15 mins to come back and say that if i got my 30k service i could get my warranty back fully intact..and get all my warranty bits sorted which include, front left speed sensor (abs) steering shaft rubber housing, jackpoint covers for skirts and also the gearbox repairs/replacement bits...result the only problem now being that i have to pay out 90 quid for it, or else loose the remaining warranty, about 14 months.
I tried the old, can i bring my own fully synthetic oil lark and he said yea that'll knock 14 quid off the price , so all in all think that they are decent chappies and chapesses, also they turn a blind eye to mods, discs, pads, springs even the induction kit, i said to him , is it any cheaper because i have an ind kit, he joked, i think your doing well enuff out of theis as it is!! cause ind kits can invalidate warranties too!!
Phew i got it off my chest now, feeling much better!!! :D :D http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/beer.gif
