got a pair of 17cm pioneers for my doors on my mk2 ibiza, got a couple of questions on this

first the connectors on the cable from the stero to the other end on the speaker is different, got a black rectangular connector with 2 pins from the speaker and 2 metal spikes only on the speaker

a friend said to just get the female black connector with cable to slot on the end of the speaker spikes, is the correct?

also the mounting holes on the speakers are not the same as the stock one, was going to dril extra holes where required and want to make sure this is ok

you'll have to cut the OE loom & make a connection to the new speakers, or solder it on

I fitted the same speakers to my MK2 when I had it, at the same time I fitted some new tweaters.... I brought 4 convertor cables that convert the metal spade connectors on the Pioneer's to the rectangular ones on the standard cabling which is VAG standard, no cutting or soldering required this way and is easy to revert back if you wish. Cost about £2 each at the most.

The speakers will fit, but you need to cut off the plastic locating pins on the door card, the speakers actually fit using the standard holes and screws but need to be upside down, i.e the Pioneer logo on the cone upside down.

Hope this helps.
