 Its silly question time again . As someone new to this modifying lark, I was just wondering if you have to completely disconnect the battery to fit the hurricane induction kit and if so is there anything to worry about on the car (biffa 20VT) ???

cheers , neil

I have a Cupra4 V6 and installed a Hurricane about 2 months back.

You certainly have to remove the battery. Along with some other things. When you reconnect all I had to do was to reconfigure the "windows close" button. When you close the windows automatically, there's a pressure sensor installed to open the window again if an object get caught between the closing window and the door. This funcion is inop after battery reinstallation and all you have to do to make it function is to open the front 2 windows.
Now, one at a time pull and hold the up button until the window closes. Thereafter keep holding it for an extra 5 seconds and release. Do the same for the other window. That should do it.

Some peeps have fitted without removing the battery on the 20VT ibizas. I did'nt remove mine and it went on OK. It is tight and fiddly but Ok.

Nothing adverse from disconnecting the battery, just a bit of hassle getting it off IMHO.

If you do, allow a few miles for things to settle back again and the ECU to adapt back again.
