Rear Wheel Spacers & Insurance!

Right, quick and simple question:

To all you guys who have fitted the Rear Wheel spacers (supplied by Bill) to a standard Ibiza 20VT.

1) Did you tell your insurance company.
2) What did they say.

Just trying to see if there is any hidden costs before I get some.

Use of spacers is a modification and, like any modification should be declared. They may just say "Yeah, fine, whatever", they may say "Spacers? Eh?" or they may say "Bend over and lube up"... Whatever, they can't have as much cash out of you as you'd have to stump up if you have an incident and find out the hard way that your insurance is null and void. Different insurers treat different modifications differently, for example Adrian Flux charged extra for fitting uprated discs & pads but weren't bothered when I changed wheels. Weird. But that's insurance companies for you...
