Hi to anyone that would like to answer my question i have recently had the forge O.CT remap and 007P Dv of which i am very happy with, but my question is should i leave the standard spring in the DV or should i change to the yellow spring if so could someone plz tell me where i can get one from and might as well get the service kit at the same time.

Thanks for your time

Steve

Steve Ryan

We generally feel that the green is fine for most applications, even when chipped .

Hello,
I'm from Portugal and I have a Leon Cupra R 225 with a revo stage 1. Last week I bought a DV 007p but I'm a bit disappointed ! The almost brutal boost I had every time I fully press the accelerator pedal as disappeared and I have now a very civilized boost ...
The impression is that the car is slower in performances and reprises ... Is this normal ? Should I try to change the spring ?

Thank you

hi mate. if your getting more lag after chipping as i did then change to yellow but leave it if its ok.

we find the spring ok on chipeed cars , but you can try the yellow if you wish

If so, why has my car lost power / torque ? Do you think that can be a wrong installation ?

I have got an Ibiza MK3 Cupra. I am using the blue spring in my 006 DV.

Am i using the good one or could i better go with an green or yellow spring?

if like the 007p the blue spring is overkill, try and get hold of a green or yellow at worst. ive been using yellow from day one with both std and remapped software and its been fine as far as i can tell.

I found the green one to be the best on my relocation kit, but i swapped with someone to try another one, gonna order a green one soon.

green is the norm and usually the one supplied with a new 007p. Some LCR/TT/S3 customers with software mods have recently gone to yellow to overcome boost spike problems and they seem to get good results in doing this.
Blue and red springs are probably a no-no on 1.8t cars as it will make the valve very difficult to open and probably cause n249 related faults in the ECU memory and maybe limp mode?
If you still have boost loss after trying a green and yellow spring and have also tested that the valve seals ok then it will obviously be down to a leak elsewhere. Check all 4 or 5mm vacuum tubes and also the actuator tube first. If ok then check all the main larger boost pipes.

It does open, when i try the vacuum test you need to apply al large amount of pressure to get the valve moving. Had it on for over 2 years. Never had any problems. But i will try the green and yellow spring soon.

 You guys sent me a blue spring for my DV007...Seems to run ok to me, no faults etc

If it was a 'no no' how come Pete sent me a blue?

does the relocation kit have any effect on the DV at all?
im thinking not, but ill ask anyway!

Personally im finding if i accelerate gently and keep the accelerator set in that position, as the revs rise to about 2,350 rpm the power dies and it feels alot like the DV is dumping. (its an aggressive power loss similair to that you can get if while accelerating you feather the throttle)
When this happens if i dont move the accelerator it can seem confused and go die go die...
other times it hesitates then goes again.
other times it dies then does nothing until i come off the accerator and re-apply it...

Martyn I cant remember now did you ask for blue ??? or did you get a tuning kit ??

Even with the relocation kit fitted we still go with green shouldnt really effect things.

I follow you advice and yesterday I changed to the yellow spring ... And I have full power again !!! The car returned to normal !!! :funk: :funk:

Something Martyn and myself have been discussing has brought something to my attention.

http://www.seatcupra.net/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=2171

Is the AQX hose identical to that pictured or is the one pictured there a 'pre-production' hose? Mine has a metal bottom breather connector and a metal n75 pipe?

The pressed hose clamps used to clamp the silicone to the metal are fouling my rocker cover breather hoses just wondering if Ive received another model by mistake?

Seems very very very tight around the 90* bend into the turbo mouth too.

also i ordered a spring valve tuning kit and received a bunch of well used springs, there was hardly any colour left on them, thought they were gonna be new, is there any problem with these in the state they are in?

So can a blue one be used in an DV006 or could i better go for an green or yellow spring?

Sometimes my car holds back at arond 3.500 r/pm. Could this be caused by the spring i am using?

I can assure you 100% that you have not received any used springs , every spring we send out is brand new
I am sure you can appreciate we use 1000s and 1000s of these springs and they all arrive from the manufacturers painted .

Now the qulaity of paint varies as they are in a box and spray painted , then they shake the box to move them around and spray some more , not ideal I agree but it would be a royal pain to spray paint each and every spring 100%.

So what you have is new spring kit that was quite simply lower in the box than the top ones , IE a lighter colour or less paint .
I will ask the spring guys to try harder

100% deffo used, il post a pic, theres even wear marks on the tops and bottoms where they have been in valves, and the paint is worn off on the insides where the spring will have been under use in a valve

heres two of them

not all that bothered just thought they would be new

oh and they didnt come in a box, they were in a plastic bag in a padded envelope

Guess I'm like dog with a bone on this one and cant let it go .

The flat tops ( wear marks ) you see on the springs are from the surface grinding that takes place when the springs are manufactured . this is so they sit flat and sqaure in the valves ,
There is NO WAY we use or send out used springs its simply not worth it , any damaged or returned products are destroyed by cutting them through .
If there is no paint inside the spring this is because your springs will have been lower in the box , nothing to do with the use .

The 006 is assembled with the blue spring and should be ok for your application
