View Full Version : Temperature sensor
The outside temperature sensor on my '96 SX MFU seems to have gone a bit pants-on-head. In 18 degrees it reckons it's actually 31.
Now, the car just came back from repair (some prat drove into my passenger front wing) and the bonnet, front spoiler, front grill, front passenger wing etc have all been replaced.
Anyone got any ideas? Does anyone even know where the sensor is? (I remember it was on the wing mirror of my Leon).

Sorry about the smack. I had a similar thing done by some prat Metro driver. Car's all sorted now, but I still haven't got my money back, since November last year. Maybe next year!
Anyways, no bloody idea where the sensor is, but I can tell you that when we do actually have a summer, I find that it over-reads by a few degrees (sometimes as much as 5) when stationary in the sun, and then comes down after about 10 minutes driving (as long as you're constantly moving) to normality. So that indicates to me that it's tucked under somewhere close by a heat source (like the engine or subject to the sun).
Well, hope the other guys can help ya, and I hope you caught the guy that whacked into your Cordy. If not, hope he/she eats sh** and dies.

On my 98' 2.0 Cordoba SX the outside temp sensor is just behind the front grill, if you take your grill off you should be able to see it, its held in a black plastic bracket.
Ah - that makes sense. The probably didn't re-fit it correctly when they replaced the grill. Thanks.
Damn - I could have got myself a mesh grill. Why didn't I think of that :(
Also ; I noticed on the summary that they have fitted the GTI front spoiler as opposed to the SX front spoiler.
I'm confused. Are they different? I'm going to have to look at a few pictures now :)
