Just finished my project yesterday.
And let me tell you. I think it's much easier in the case of the Ibiza then for the Leon. It's tough, it takes a lot of patience also.
I had these things going against me:
1. First thing I noticed was that the cylinders the screws were mounted in were not as long as the Ibiza's. Instead they were about 1.5 cm long. More like the studs under a baseball shoe.
2. Second thing I noticed was that you can't let the 3rd and 4th LED stick out even a half millimeter from the back side of the frame without it hindering the reinstallation of the frame. There is also no room for the blue light to shine through in the Leon. The instrument face meets the clearplastic cover with only half centimeter clearance. And that's covered with grey plastic.
3. In the Leon there's no cover under the light switch. But you have to unscrew the fusebox on the side of the dashboard to get to the rear of the switch
4. Last hurdle I had to overcome was that the light switch does not hang out like the picture in the Ibiza how-to page. Rather the plug only barley comes out of the light switch hole (where the switch is fastend) and that's when pulling really hard. So I had to get a knife and cut the insulation. I felt like a circus contorsionist. And my hands still hurt.
But I do have some pictures on my memory stick. If anyone's interested, I can post them and help them through.
Regards,
Xander
