Once again the *cough* "210" conversion shows its worth on my motor:rolleyes:

Real Value for money upgrade this one - DUH! £2000 well spent -NOT.
:(

Chalk up another RR session showing exactly the same power measurements as previous ones, all about 188-193bhp.... and significantly less than *cough* "210".

I must be dreaming all of this...
Could'nt possibly be true...
All these RR's are wrong.. even when stock cars give stock power.

LOL

Regals fans (x2) were small little jobbies, but the power runs were very very quick... fastest I've seen personally, so heat soak on power runs could not have been an issue like seen at Powerstation.

Same results on mine as at Stealth, Powerstation (x3 times) and Regal, and confirmed by VAG-COM.

Must be dreaming it again...
LOL

Great day through out, but which muppet put the results up?? They put them up wrong, my car is an 8v GTI not a 16v so my car is 17BHP up on standard, people will start to read it and think i am down on power as the 16v's are 150BHP standard!!!!

Yeah cheers to everyone who organised this.

I left with a smile on my face after getting 11BHP over standard!

Cheers,

Steve

Sorry mate, was only a light insult, hope you did not take it personally (grovel grovel!!!) just did not want people to think my Seat was down on power and wanted to be able to show off an extra 17BHP for a standard 8v. Thanks anyway for a great day out, was nice to see the Honda boys throwing their toys out of their prams!! Will get those pics to you as soon as possible, work has gone all tits up today!

Horray for the extar 17BHP, although i think i could have still got one or two more extra bhp as they only had a tiny fan at the front of the car!

Nice to see everyone and put faces to peoples names.

 :D  :wave1:  :car:  :fist:

Just messing with you mate.

I think you had one of the highest gains of the day.

The old Honda boys werent too happy, were they :D

Just nice to see all the boys with their big cars (and somewhat big egos) that they were down on power quite a bit and all us Seat boys were up on power. Just goes to show how good the build quality on our Seats are.......LOL, based on VW build quality.

Unfortunatly the power increase is connected to the length of said pipe - so you'd need to loose 3ft of it in the bonnet to stand a hope.

waaahay... tuned induction length of cold air feed pipe.. Got to get me one of them. :p

TUV approved mod, gives you zillions of bhp no doubt.

LOL

Still looks like you ran over an elephant tho... Funny to look at - LOL

Well I was well happy with the Mini's run! 3bhp up on standard! But I was expecting it to be down on power, so was well happy.

Think the Mini gave everyone a laugh though!

Nice to meet some peeps too and see you all Nov 1st! This time I will have my car with me....or else!

Steve
02-09-2002, 21:28
Obviously my lack of any cold air ducting was the reason for only 11bhp over standard and not 17 like Tony!!

Tony2Quick4u
03-09-2002, 09:09
I guess you will just have to except it Steve that my car is faster muuhahahahaha....only joking mate, but i cant really see two induction pipes which i have on my engine (elephant trunks as Bill put it) giving an extra 6BHP over ur car!! I guess although it is the same make and model, all cars from supposedly factory standard are not standard.

Does this mean if i get 3,4,5,6,7 cold air pipes under my bonett that i will be putting out 180BHP!!!!

Anyway joking apart, i have to say the pipes really do make a huge difference, especially on a cold night, mmmmmmm cold air!

Bring on Curborough, i hear that the 8V's do very well round the twisty low revving circuit. But not so good around Alconbury as the track is very large and much longer............now where was that can of Nitrous!!!

Tony

Where did u buy ur car?
Are you the first owner?

Those figures of urs are bang on for a chipped 8V.

My old one ran 134.9bhp on amd's rollers after a run of 122bhp (re-map with magnex and piperx)

intriguing

Thanks Saul,

Where does this make me stand, i bought the car from Sidlow Seat dealer and they did not tell me it was chipped (if it is) therefore becuase i did not know, i have not claimed it on my insurance, so if i have an accident and the car is a write off, and the insurance company finds out, i will not get a penny as ignorance is not a strong argument. Do you think the Seat dealer should have told me, although they could pretend they did not know!!

I did find it a bit strange to be putting out that sort of power. I will have to take it down to my local performance garage and get them to have a look at it. I either take the risk and don't tell the insurance company or i claim it if it is chipped. This means my insurance will go sky high.

I cant believe this, this has really pissed me off if it is chipped, i will try and find out by saturday when i take it to the garage. Thanks for pointing that one out Saul

Easy there tony, stranger things have happened, i was merely speculating, markp put out a good over standard figure, its highly likely yours did too, coolish engine, decent airflow and a quick run could all cumulate in a good power figure, the mk2 have been known to put out upto 10bhp over quoted figures, its quite common.

I wouldnt go shouting, your dealer wouldnt know any way.

Best thing to do is, get glyn to take u out @ curby, then take glyn out in yours, you can feel the difference in acceleration.

Ill keep me mouth shut in future lol :p

Cheers Saul, no way was i having a go at you or anyone, i am glad of the power, but i am just concerned about a bit about the insurance or possible accidents happening, the chipped has not been claimed on the insurance and well you know the rest!

Yes it is possible that the engine is standard and i had a good run that day, i have only got an K&N induction kit and have recently fitted 2 induction pipes, one attached to the bumper and the other from the fan, and i have felt a significant power increase, could this be possible?

Are you going to Curborough Saul?

If so can you introduce me to Glynn, and as you said take each other out for a spin, i guess he has a 8v as well then?

Cheers for the advice Saul.

Dont think i can make it, if had to fork out for repairs this month due to a thievin scumbag, plus we go to trax on sunday, and i need petrol cash.

Kev Hall is going tho, he's got a black 8v which will be on 15"s OZ SuperL's, bug him for a drive, say i told him you could ;)

Steve

There's an 8v in the gallery on the homepage showing a 129bhp run. I don't know what the specs of that are though.

they do produce a bit more poke once they loosen up,but mines starting to loose it now ,she's getting old :(

I remember from my old 2.0 8v toledo days there where two types of injection system used on the engines - bosch and siemens (hence different fitting induction kits from some suppliers) do they give out different BHP? It might be like the old mk2 golf k-jetronic and bosch (? can't remember now) where the later injection system put out more? but the older ones drove better
