I found a used Ibiza (not the version they sell now, the previous one, like the one that figures in the Amethyst banner at the top of page), a 110hp tdi, just the one I wanted, beautiful car, but the guy who owns it has changed springs and has chipped it,,,
The problem is I don't know where did he go to re-map the chip and consecutively I don't know how good the work was done,,, what do you suggest? should I buy it?
The car has 39.600 Km (approx 24.750 miles), harder springs, new chip (I don't know how many bhp it has in this way, I'll ask), seems in great conditions and goes like hell,,, another problem is that here in Italy, Rome, there aren't a lot of ibizas like the one I wanted (IMO I don't like the new Ibiza) so it has been a little hard to find this one,,, the ****er wants 10.000 Euros for it (don't know how much it is in £),,,
thx a lot

We can't tell you what chip is fitted, but I'm sure the owner will know..... Only you can decide how good the car is, but I wouldn't personally buy a modified car unless I knew the owner/car, or what exactly had been done.

Well, I talked to the owner: the car was chipped by Leone Motori, one of the best tuners in Rome, the chip hasn't been changed, it's been re-mapped, now the car has 130hp, has been lowered by 2.5 cm (1 inch) which is not this good for the shitty roads we got in the center of Rome, a mechanix who's examinated the car told me that it almost doesn't absorb any shock on the rear axle. Anyway the car is very handlable now!! But all those shocks can seriously damage the car?
You know that Japanese scooters are tested by factories on Roman roads before being commercialized,,, this can make you understand what kind of roads we got in the center...
I'm gonna ask to the tuner how much the turbo pressure has been raised, I know that for cars that come out of the factory, the pressure shouldn't be raised more than 0.3-0.4 bars to leave the engine work properly,,, is this ture?
Now what you think of the car?
For example, how much do the Upsolute chips raise the turbo pressure on Seat's Tdi's?
thx a lot once again

shitty roads?? Have you been to Portugal? I think the Paris-Dakar trucks are tested hear :)
Only kidding, the trucks are not tested hear! The road however are shit. I put a lowered suspension on my beeza, only to have it removed 3 months latter (I couldn't handle the back pain). You can always go to OE springs with upgraded shocks (this is how I had my beeza).
Turbo boost??
I think Neil (Tdi110) can help you best since he has the Upsolute chip. You should be able to get more than 0.4bar boost by chipping, I think this has to do with the fuel/air mapping.
