I want to get my Leon chipped and think that APR's the way to go at the moment. (Correct me if i'm wrong!)

I was just wondering where to get it done..
From the APR website it looks like you have to go through one of their dealers and they don't actually work on cars themselves. Is this true?

Anyway, i was just wondering if it makes any difference where you get the APR treatment done and which companies people have experience with.

Cheers

Mine was done at Stealth Racing in Southam near Coventry, Vince is a top bloke, very knowledegable, knows the VW engines inside out.

Also has a rolling road, so can give you a before and after run too.

Maybe closer places to you, but from what i know, all the APR agents seem to be very good places to do business with, i can only vouch for Stealth and Awesome GTi in Manchester though, both good outfits.

I dropped in on stealth Racing this morning and met vince and the lads, top blokes, i took my ibiza in to be chipped, I also had sum H&R springs fitted to help the suspension out.

I have not stopped smiling since my journey home, the car been transformed, i have read what people have said here before, and i had sum idea of what to expect, but unitl ur behind the wheel, u can't appreciate the differance it makes.

No longer am i dropping gears to make comfortable overtaking, blowing a clio 172, and a rover ZR or what ever its called the little one, at the lights was so funny. The lad in the bright yellow rover had a big bore on and was reving it like f***, i spoted him in the outside lane as i pulled up.Lights changed clio did not play rover went, i let the clutch up, tryed not to spin it in first, dropped into second nailed it, third, i bolted like a horse into the distance :D

I'm gunna get my car timed when i can, i'd like to know the performance figures, i'm a boy racer u see, and traffic light grandprix are one of the game i play :) i know sad :p

Also when when i get chance i'm gunna go head to head with me bros civic type R, see who's the winner now.

One very happy customer

APR will do the mods themselves - they did mine at their place in Daventry, and the service was very good.

Give them a call and discuss your requirements as they were all very helpful with me.

Ask for Richard Washbrook - technical director. He advised me and I found him very informative.

Cheers,

Lozza

I've spoken to Richard already, I was hoping to have them do it in Daventry too but apparently they have stopped doing work on cars there now :(

I think this is while they were establishing themselves in the UK, but now they have people from the states working here in the UK, doing R&D work, so that must take up most of their time.

I think they would prefer you to use their dealers now they have established themselves and their dealer network is growing now, with some very experienced outfits like Stealth, Awesome, Star Performance to name a couple.

The support you can get from APR is good though, if they are not doing fitting, means they are improving the products, working on new products and generally can have more time to support customers.

We have been very busy at APR in Daventry with some R&D for the Diesel range hence we have diverted retail work on to our dealer network(mainly Stealth Racing as they are the nearest to us)
We will still carry out instalation work if a customer wishes to travel to head office but we will need a few days notice to fit these in.
